    Sam came in from Sunland Ca. early this morning to get himself a Christmas gift for his 2021 OR. We got him updated and flashed with Pro-9.0 with Normal throttle.
    After his test drive his response was " Wow I love it. It feels amazing" It was good meeting you Sam enjoy the Pro-9.0 let us know how your enjoying the tune.
    Sam had some great looking vinyl stickers added to honor his Dogs.

    So the tune and shift points ARE upgraded in adaptive cruise? I may be misunderstanding, but it seems you’re saying 2 different things here. All I’ve read so far is the adaptive cruise is completely unchanged but the standard cruise gets the tune. Sorry if I’m missing something, just trying to understand. Thanks.

    Vftuner has settings for cruise control shift points. We have adjusted those. With that and the tune, the Adaptive Cruise Control is greatly improved.
    The stock radar distances and braking are the same and those settings cannot be changed.

    @Mike412 my experience and those of customers I’ve tune is that the Adaptive and normal cruise both work the same as in shift point and down and up shifts and how long it take to upshift once the load is off.

    Now although greatly improved your truck configuration will dictate how much it downshifts under load.

    Example I tuned two 2017 customers today one stock except for one size larger tires and a 2” spacer lift. The other full 3/2” suspension lift with 295/75/16 tires.

    I rode with both on their test drives and both spent approximately 25 minutes driving stop and go, WOT, backroads and highway driving. Both tested cruise on backroads and highway. And both had differences in the way their trucks responded with cruise on.

    The more stockish 2”spacer and 32” cruised at 1800 rpm’s on the flats and took most sloping hills at 2000 rpm’s. More abrupt sharper hills that increased load quicker resulted in appropriate downshifts and rpm’s at 3000 rpm’s. Normally 200-400 less than when stock.

    The heavier truck downshifted a little more and held rpm’s a little higher, 2000-2100 on flats and 2800-2900 rpm’s when taken hills. The lower rpm’s on steeper hills is due to larger tire increase torque so you benefit with lower rpm’s. But you probably will downshift more.

    This owner related it to “gear hunting” but that’s not the case actually. The KDMAX tune (or any current tune) has refined the cruise controlled to where it is usable but best gas mileage is still to be had with manually operated gas pedal manipulation.

    I believe there is still room for improvement in the cruise controlled area and hopefully we will see that in future releases.
