Me too, exactly the same. Tired of winter gas. I don't seem to have the same power in 5th and 6th gears on winter gas, either.

The truck adjusts pretty quickly to changes in fuel. When I was in OR, the gas was E10 and I could see a noticeable drop in fuel economy.

Actually my mpg went a bit up. Not much, but is trending up since I switched over in November. Better than on previous version summer gas

Drive your truck like a video game. Speed doesn’t matter what matters is how much pedal you are giving. Watch the fuel mileage bar and try and keep it as much to the right as possible. That’s what I do. Also I over inflate my tires. 40psi for less rolling resistance. I tried the suggested 29 and it dropped by at least 3mpg. JM experienced yours may vary.

You drive probably the flattes and congested section of the road. Have you tried I-90 East corridor with higher speed limit and longer inclines?

We have in the past. But wanted an 87 octane run on the latest version since that is what most people run.
You will gain a little power on the Premium fuel, but you have to decide if it is worth the cost.

when you paying $2 a liter the extra 6 cents is basically nothing for 91. looking to get my new 2023 tuned and deciding between ott and kdmax. seems like 95% say to go with ott but i know its the "hype" tune right now and just about all the people with it have not run current version kdmax or any other tune at all

I have run both versions of OTT and so far Kdmax 9.0 is my favorite, also normal throttle.

    So glad to hear it!
We have switched quite a few back. We just want everyone to enjoy driving their Tacoma.
The Toyota stock tune is just frustrating to everyone.

Also let me add that when I am not on the hwy I am in S mode and manually shift. That way I can actually get the engine up to 4000 rpm and shift. Otherwise these engines will carbon up over time as they shift at 2000 RPM and the computer is trying to keep the engine at a low RPM when stock. IMO it’s not good to just always be at 1500rpm at all speeds like it does stock when in D mode. Hwy it’s fine but not around town.

I do something similar too. In some ways we are fighting the ECU for control of drivability. S-Mode is one way to take back control. When I’m laid back and taking it easy in town siping on the fuel to maximize MPG’s I’m in D. When I’m fed up and driving aggressively due to the other morons on the road I’m in S-Mode and fully in control rather than the computer. Also when safe to do so, in town I like to floor it and keep things limber once in a while. Highway driving on road trips is where it gets the most of it’s workout. I use all drive modes. Especially in our mountain passes.

Thank you @TWTaco for getting me all set up! My truck was a slow brick before the tune and now it just cruises! Night and day difference.

That was the same with mine, also. It happened on all tune settings of lite, normal and sport. Don't give up on the tune, they will take care of you.

That isnt really a bad thing. if it shifts to 5th or 6th, at that speed, now you are below 1500 and "dogging" the truck. then, touch the pedal, and it shifts to 4th, and the transmission shift, hunt, boogie starts. anything in the 2000 rpm range is an acceptable fuel economy rpm, and has pep with fuel pedal pressure. be careful asking for shift adjustments, you may be back into the stock shift logic, and THAT SUCKS!!! If I were you, I would ask for the lite throttle setting tune, prior to adjusting shift points. Ski
