What would a reflash do. It was programmed before. Unless you're saying that not every flash actually implements the tune... which would be a HUGE fucking problem.

Don't underestimate the GFC on mine. Weight aside, it kills aerodynamics.

Also there just seems to be a ton of variance in MPG for folks. I don't know if its just the truck components and luck of the draw or what, but you can find posts from people with the same trucks getting 15mpg and 20mpg. Maybe one or both are lying to themselves. Probably. But there still seems to be a lot of variance.

I just know my mileage was worse with tune than without. Your mileage may vary.

@nemo2020 these truck’s definitely have a Jeckle and Hyde nature to them. My truck runs in the 19 to 20 mpg (verified hand calculated) range with lift, 33’s etc… others I tune usually see a bump from .5 to 1.5 mpg after tuned.

I have a close customer whose truck shows on gauges 25-26 mpg consistently. I’ve asked him to track it by manually hand calculation but he’s not done so yet.

We have seen an improvement when someone has poor gas mileage and we do a reset of the ECU and reset of the TCU and reflash the tune. Especially if you’ve added weight, and gears. It definitely would not hurt to try.

i think short of a reset you just have to ignore computer for a period of time. I've seen some lowered values crop up after heavy towing as expected but then hang around for 2+ tankfulls back on my trusted local gas station before trending back to my normal values. It should NOT take over 600 miles to do that but its what I have seen.

Is it pretty pathetic that I drive so much every day that I know when my transmission fluid needs to be changed? With a fresh transmission service and fresh reflash and lv reset man this tune rips like always.

I am on the same flash since we were testing v9.0 and tonight it's still the truck I always wanted. It's not a race truck but ever since early KDMAX it's continued to be a pleasure to drive....scoot scoot ;)

    Yep.
There are buttons to click in VFtuner for reset ECM and TCU.
You do not click Prepare ECM, you just hook up to the truck, put on the ignition, then click the reset buttons one at a time and let them finish successfully. Then when finished, click Prepare ECM and flash the tune like usual.

Interesting. I'll check this out. Since I have a manual, I assume I only have the one reset button to click...

Recently went up to 35s and after deciding that the speedo was finally enough of a problem to need dealing with, I got a speedo calibrator and reflashed 9.0 last weekend. Truck sits at the shop all week so after I picked it up and made the commute home (was about half stop and go half cruising at 80) I managed 17.1 mpg :D Stock gears still, managed to sit at 17/1800 rpm in 6th and would occasionally bump up to 5th at 2k/2100 rpm and the truck comfortably sat in that pocket, super stoked on this

I thought Rich tuned your truck with the KDMax tune?

    Yes.
Every once in a while we find an ECU that is not supported, but we’ve been able to get vftuner to get them added.
