KDMax-Pro Tuning--NOW YotaWerx Tuning

Last Thursday updated from Pro XT to 9.0 in advance of this weekends trailer haul to CA. I did change to the lite throttle as we experienced some tip in surging previously. Seemed to occur in parking lots and very little throttle inputs. Happy to say with 9.0 lite I’m not experiencing any of this. Pulled a Uhaul 4x8 enclosed trailer with about 600lbs of car parts, engine, trans, axles, etc. from Phoenix AZ to Ramona CA. For the Phoenix to Yuma leg I had the cruise set at 65 and we got 21.1 mpg. This is mostly flat with a few hills. The Yuma to Ramona leg was all climbing with strong winds and we still got 18.4 mpg on this leg. I had ECT on and was in S5 the entire time. Very happy overall with performance, drivability, and mileage.

Pretty wild to be honest. This tune rules.

 

Back in Aug, I got tuned with XT, regular. Was mildly concerned with how the throttle response would be in the winter and low traction conditions.

Well, this past weekend it got taken to task. A bunch of us WI guys went out for our winter trail ride, trails/logging roads/forest access roads, maybe 60 miles worth. Much of the route turned out to be sheer ice. I can say that this version of tune never once upset the truck with poor or abrupt throttle application. If I wanted a slide, I could generate one predictably. Stock would have had at least a few moments. This is an example of what we experienced:

Yes we have support for the following years 3rdgen 2.7 4cyl. 2016-2017-2018-2020-2021-2022 Automatic only at this time.

I recently upgraded from Pro XT to 9.0, Sport Setting on both tunes. 9.0 is a nice improvement! I'm looking forward to filling up with some 93 octane once the Winter loosens it's grip on northern Illinois. Thanks a bunch Kreg!

@TacoTunesday Trolling through the thread and would appreciate your input as it seems like a KDTune Might help my '17 TRD Taco. Truck is frequently downshifting to 4th gear at highway speeds around 55-60mph and staying in 4th gear even on flat stretches which means RPMs are at about 2,500. Transmission is constantly bouncing between 4th and 5th gear. Driving me crazy. Partner's manual 2nd gen Tacoma is way smoother and can cruise in 6th gear on many of the same stretches of highway. Do you think the tune would help with this? Live in Carbondale area and looks like you'd be closest option!

Will there be a mdmax 10 tune?

I mean, doubt it's necessary as the current 9 tune seems spot on my. But just curious.

If so, what tweaks are being worked on?

 

We shall see. Depends on any new maps/settings in vftuner.

 

I tuned a ‘21 2.7L last weekend. Dean (customer) is happy with it.
