@SomeDude&Tacoma i would get with your tuner and have a re-flash done. I’d even recommend clearing the ECM and TCU data.

My experience with XT and now the 9.0 is that cruise is vastly improved in standard and adaptive mode.

As in they operate similar with adaptive holding rpm a tad bit higher. The truck still downshifts but appropriately depending on load on engine. The crazy downshifts with high rev’s to 3500 and beyond are history with mine.

And the upshift happen usually within a hundred yards of cresting the hill and load releasing from engine. Anyway my experience and that of customers.

Now is there room for improvement? Absolutely!

The “Holy Grail” of tunes is matching cruise to driving characteristics without cruise on.

@PapaRee I recently installed Anderson Engineering manifold spacer on my truck. Do I need custom tune files for the AE spacer or am I good to go?

A few of the trucks that showed up to get tuned with KDMAX in Salt Lake City, Utah this weekend. Man, this tune really is impressive! Had some VERY happy Tacoma owners!

Does anyone with normal throttle, experience bucking when on bumpier roads starting from a dead stop or even when the truck is just warming up? I’m assuming my issue is just getting used to the sensitive throttle after having the stock caveman throttle for so long.

We have plenty of bumpy roads around here and I have not had that experience. Nor have I had the warming up bucking problem.

The throttle is different from stock and takes some time to get accustomed to the linear response. But that usually just means I gun it a little heavy and take-off quicker than I meant.

You can have your tuner flash a different throttle setting. My experience is that it nothing wrong with tune it’s just getting the correct throttle setting to your preference.

The Normal is in my opinion the most sensitive on tip in. Either try Lite or the Normal-Lite setting. It’s a little more pep than Lite but knocks the edge off the Normal tip in. Also be willing to try Sport, I know sounds counterintuitive but it’s actually very smooth but with pep :burnrubber:

I think my issue might be me trying to
use a light touch when I just need to give it more gas. Thanks!
