I've been running the kdmax pro LT for a few hundred miles now and all i can say is my truck isn't an annoying burden to drive anymore. No gear hunting, when you expect the truck to downshift, it does. Im averaging about 21mpg before each fill up. Not only is the tune great, but kdmax's customer service has been top notch since day one. I was in a serious bind where my fathers truck wouldn't start, i messaged him and he gave me his number! i called him and he walked me through a spiderweb of clicks and downloads and i was back up and running in minutes. This isnt something you see everyday, a true gentleman. Thanks for all you do

It's inevitable that there are people reading this thread wondering if getting a tune is a good thing to do or not. I would say that if you do get your truck tuned, you'll be saying it's the single best mod you've done to your truck. The worst that could happen is that you don't like it and they put your truck back on the stock tune that it came with. Give it a chance, you'll be glad you did and kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. Also, their CS goes way above and beyond. You won't be disappointed.

That's where I'm at. I've put 2000 miles on my truck and looking forward to getting the tune. Knowing that if I don't like it I can undo it and get my money back is worth a lot to me. Now.... just have to align schedules with a tuner.... or learn the trade myself. ;)

I went the route of buying VF Tuner and the tune files. It's more expensive at first, but you can change the tune to a different setting (normal, sport, etc.) whenever you want. Much easier than having to set up appointments with someone to do it for you if needed or wanted. Also, installing a tune is very easy. If you do run into any trouble, you will more than likely get help within minutes of requesting it.

Installed a few days ago. The truck now likes to hold 5th and 6th gear much better. It’ll pull in 6th below 2k rpm which is pretty nice compared to some other tunes I’ve tried that’ll just downshift immediately. I’m running 33” tires. The interesting thing about this is that I feel like this is one of the tunes with less power across the board compared to a few others. It doesn’t have much mid or high end power. Currently running 87octane. Still on first tank of gas and truck is still learning. I also did not reset esc, dct, ect when flashing

Run couple tanks of premium you'll like the difference. With the warmer weather coming my mpgs are coming back up towards 20 mpg

I was thinking that also. Couldn’t hurt tbh.

One thing I have a question about if anyone could answer: on highway in top gear at 65mph @ 1500rpm truck downshifts to 5th (I think) rpm’s jump to 2k then quickly drop to 1700rpm. Or is that just the torque converter and it was still in 6th?

If on stock gears and bigger tires like me your in 5th . My truck will run 1390 rpms in 6th 60mph. 5th at 1500 rpms 60 mph and jump to 2000 or so rpms on incline

I've been running the KD max Pro 9.0 for about 5000 miles now and it is by far the best tune I have found. It is my 5th tune and 3rd by KD Max. My truck's a pig on 35's with stock gears and she feels damn near sporty with the tune. PapaRee has been exceptionally helpful and even hooked me up with an AGM tune with shifting point for flatlanders. She's a pleasure to drive and I couldn't be happier. KD Max is the bomb and PapaRee is the man to drop it!

@dlb97as may I ask what other tunes you came from? It’s nice to get some comparisons. Although I believe all tune will be close, would be nice to know where KDMAX filled in the voids you were missing. Thanks
