Where at in NE? If I'm not encroaching on @19TRDTac0 I can do it for you sometime this summer. I drive back from CO to cape cod to visit family once every summer, after driving 32+ hours a little detour wouldn't hurt.

I just got myself the VFTuner and cable after reading about about KDMax. Only question is now what? I'm pretty green when it comes to doing this

Much respect to @PapaRee for his amazing service! Got the new XT file, flashed and idling now.

Will go for my customary 20 miles quick test ride loop and get a feel for the new throttle adjustments.

I will report back when I get done...

I flashed the manual XT version earlier. Only drove a couple of miles this round, but the throttle is definitely a bit more lively.

I had just gotten a good 50 mile drive on the previous version, with good results (avg mpg was just shy of 19, but I'm a pretty sprightly driver :D).

I should get a longer drive on XT tomorrow. So far, it's pretty sweet.

i have the KDMax tune (in utah). I did notice that the throttle jumps down in second and 3rd gear at about 2k+ rpms. Would this resolve that? (The xt version?)

Just a little KDMax 6.0 mpg report.
4.88, 265's, LT throttle, truck is slightly heavier than stock, 3ish" lift

Drove to Red McCombs Toyota to pick up some manifold gaskets. I have made the drive to and from that dealership quite a few times.
I was on OVTune 2.0 (19800) for a long time. My best mpg on that drive on OVTune was around 18ish on a good day.

On the way to the dealership I drove normally, simply kept up with the flow of traffic, mainly 60-70mph most of the trip 40-50mph for the rest.
    427D12B0-D41C-4868-BF34-AF9128EDE2FE.jpg

On the way home I got on it a few times then got stuck in a little stop n go traffic for about a mile.

*0.7 miles trip difference is because you have to go all the way down the access road and take the turnaround to head back.

Just highlighting another real-world benefit of the best tune out there

I bought a used ECM off of eBay and bench flashed it with KDMax tonight.
It was 04b01 (Old software), so I identified it, then updated it with techstream to 04b04, then flashed KDMax 6.0 on it.
Finally, I wrote my VIN to this ECM to have it as a spare.

Glad you finally got your spare.

Don’t forget to do an immobilizer reset if you swap it into the truck. Otherwise you’ll just crank no start

So, my 20 miles test loop I always run after a new flash consists of a mix of surface streets and highway (with some mild to moderate grades)

The first way I had the cruise set at 75. It held very nicely with what felt like very little struggle to maintain while going up the grade. In the past on other files, the cruise felt a little sluggish to maintain speed, but not bad. The XT file felt better.

As far as throttle feel on the surface and highway, there is a noticeable feel of more peep. I feel as thought I do not have to mash the pedal as much to keep speed or gain speed.

Again, this is after 20 miles, however, if this little test is any indication, this might be the file I run for the foreseeable future.

I will offer more feedback after I get more Daily driving done as well as some more serious mountain canyon climbing ( There is a canyon road here in Utah called Parleys canyon. It is a VERY long 6% grade up and down for 10 miles) I want to drive that and see how it feels. ;)

The immobilizer reset process is fun, especially the wait 30 minutes and hope you didn’t screw it up part.
