Maxx, is your friend looking for the DIY remote tuning option, or full, in-person tuning services? If the latter, where is your friend located?

That method works yes. The order process asks for more info and the support included will help you get any updates and even screen sharing level support if needed.

Picking up truck tomorrow. 2021 SR5 2.7 DC AT RWD… any tuners in Florida, specifically Orlando-ish area? Looking mid-June. Want to run it for a month or so as-is.

    Thank you!

Nathan @LilTexan22 came in this morning with his 2017 2.7. Got him flashed with KDMAX he was coming from a pedal commander so we went right with the Sport throttle.
After his test drive he came back with that big "KDMAX SMILE" :D on his face. He was really impressed with the improved power and the throttle response was spot on for his driving style and his truck setup. He cant wait to get out on the highway. He said he wished he had heard about the tune sooner. Glad your really happy with the tune Nathan feel free to leave a review for the other 2.7 owners looking to get tuned. It was good meeting you enjoy the tune!

    Oh man…
Matt stopped by with his 22 looking to get rid of the constant gear hunting and gain some performance! He also reached out after his drive home and he’s up 3-4 MPG’s! Thanks for the support Matt and glad you’re happy with your truck!

Kyle stopped by looking for more performance out of his 18 4Runner after going to 33’s. Smoother shifting, increased low to mid range torque and up 2 MPG’s! Thanks Kyle!

    Oh man…
Eddie brought his truck over for a Wescott lift, 33’s and tune on his 2020 Pro. Plenty of power to turn those bigger tires, smooth shifting and a report of 23 MPG’s when he got home! It’s an absolute blast to drive! Enjoy the truck!

This may have been asked before in the 400 pages here. But - has anyone ran 93 octane E30 on this tune or otherwise?

I’ve been running E10 87 90% of the time. Ran 91 no ethanol for a while during 2020 when prices were rock bottom but that’s no longer the case.

I saw that a local station somehow had 93 for less than the price of standard 87. Which didn’t make sense to me but I thought what the heck why not. I did not see a single thing stating the ethanol content so it assumed it was 10% like most here in Kansas.

After some Reddit research I found a general consensus that it’s 30% ethanol thus the price difference and higher octane rating. Saw my gas gap stated E20-E85 is a no-no. E10/E15 OK. Well. What about E30. Letting the tank go to the low fuel light and filling back up with 87 E10 and hope the octane learning finds out.

Has anyone else ran E30/93 before particularly with the octane learning tunes such as KDMax? Bad idea?

MPG was about normal if not slightly higher. Power delivery felt great as usual for this tune. But don’t want long term damage.

I would say no, don't run it because Toyota says no and the EPA says no.
But these guys who did a study, say yes.

The results of the University of Nebraska study did not surprise Sombke, because in 2016, Glacial Lakes Energy, an ethanol production cooperative headquartered in Watertown, South Dakota, launched a similar study, dubbed “The E30 Challenge.” The E30 Challenge results mirror those of the University of Nebraska, said Glacial Lakes Energy, CEO, Jim Seurer.

“Non-flex fuel vehicles are able to adapt to the higher oxygen content of E30 and there was no effect on vehicle performance,” Seurer said. “In fact, in most cases, our tests indicated that vehicles actually performed better with the Premium E30 than they did with E10. Engine performance actually improved.”

Since the E30 Challenge began in 2016, drivers in Watertown and Aberdeen have purchased more than 7 million gallons of E30 and driven more than 150 million miles with no issues.

It is really up to you, do some googling and decide.
But if you are asking me, I say stick with what toyota recommends.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It's not the added Oxygen that's the issue. The raised alcohol content is more corrosive. Long term, I would guess you'd see damage to your whole fuel system: fuel pump, fuel lines, injectors.

I wouldn't trust a study out of Nebraska or Iowa (or South Dakota either for that matter) that touts something like this. They are too financially tied to the ethanol business and the gov't subsidies to be objective. I'll leave it at that for fear of getting a vacation.
