Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
On a side note: I got upgraded from XT a week ago and damn if there isn't a noticeable positive feel to the upgrade. I felt the difference in less than 50 feet! It was well worth the wait! Thanks to all that make this happen.

Thank you! That was my thought but I was rather curious if anyone had a different viewpoint there. I was in Iowa in our Subaru a few weeks ago and noticed they had a LOT of options at the pump, their main gas was E15 instead of E10, luckily our 2018 2.0i Crosstrek can take E15 just fine but no more, much like the Tacoma per the manual. Seems to be more and more of a thing especially in the midwest.

I'd also agree there. No vacation needed, it's a large part of their economy so it would make sense for them to aim that direction. Even if the manufacturers say otherwise.

Dang, I still need to get on that. I'm still on the older tune, got the files! Just haven't made the time to re-install VF which I'm not particularly looking forward to as it's changed so much over the years from the simple flash manager of yesteryear. My laptop that had VF loaded up decided to stop booting into Windows so I tossed the SSD into a spare Mac tower and poof went my VF install. That's good to hear though! I've been very happy with Pro + and XT (and 6.0, and 4.0 and so on). The other reason I haven't touched it, is because I have literally zero complaints!

Is there a new version out? I checked my tunes and based on the filename, I'm running Pro 9.0, which is listed on the first page, but so is XT.

Haven't been able to connect with my tuner in Denver. Anyone else in northern Colorado or southern Wyoming offering tunes? I'd like to get upgraded from whatever version I'm on. Probably 6 or 7. Thanks.

Thanks. That's pretty far from me but maybe I can time it for a trip that direction.

    KDMaxPro 9.0 tune review:

I received my KDMaxPro 9.0 tune pack on April 13 but wanted to put some miles on the truck and get used to it before posting a review. I have the VF software and was previously running the VFTune 2.0 map for about a year. While it was a big improvement over stock (especially with the 285's), it still left a lot to be desired. Its shifts weren't as crisp as they should have been and the dead pedal for the first 1/3 of the pedal stroke was terrible. It was also hard to get it to hold speed on the freeway without constantly having to force it to downshift (we're talking at ~70mph). I researched options for a few months and debated the KDMax vs another popular tune but the customer service I received from Kreg (@PapaRee) was so much better. He was extremely down to earth and replied to my questions almost immediately.

What I wanted out of the tune was to have a truck that just shifted properly (like any other vehicle with an automatic transmission does) with perhaps some enhanced performance and increased mpg. If you've been following my build at all, you'll know I have pretty high standards when it comes to any modifications and this tune doesn't disappoint. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but figured this had to be a big step up from stock and the VF tune. It was. I tested all 4 tunes from the pack and ended up on the Lite throttle pretty quickly - it's just so smooth on the tip in weather you're stopped or slowly moving. I've never seen myself as a Lite throttle user but the description is somewhat misleading - KD's light throttle is still more sensitive than the VF 2.0 Enhanced Throttle tune pack I was previously on. The other options included with this pack are all the same performance-wise but with more sensitive tip-ins. The shifting of the truck with the stock tune pissed me off to no end. The VF map got the truck drivable but I was still very aware of how it shifted and constantly thinking about it. Since throwing on the KDMax tune, I really don't have to think much about the transmission anymore. It holds gear much better, holds speed much better, always seems to be in the gear you want it to be in and really just drives like you would expect it to. It's nice to be able to finally enjoy driving my truck instead of being angry at the transmission. It does drive differently than it did with the VF2.0 map which took some getting used to (mostly needing more throttle input to make it downshift while on the highway), but after putting 3-4 weeks on it, I'm very happy I chose to go with this tune pack and would absolutely recommend it. MPG seems to be going up as well but I don't have enough miles on it yet to say exactly how much it has changed. I mostly drive city and am seeing 15's on the dash more frequently now after a trip vs 12's-13's. I like that it is octane-learning and does seem to be performing a bit better halfway thru a tank of 91 (highest we get in AZ). I figure I'll need to run a few tanks thru it to really have any data to compare. I also don't tow very often (ever) but I did have the opportunity to bail out one of my buddies that recently had his car overheat on him. I put the truck in ECT mode and towed his 88 Corolla GTS about 6 miles without ever really noticing it was there, and it held gear beautifully the entire time. I got better mpg during that trip than I do on the way to/from work, just awesome. Is the truck faster? Most definitely, but I don't drive it hard enough to notice most days. Mostly I'm just blown away by how proper the truck feels with this tune on it. I'm really liking the KDMaxPro 9.0. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth it.

    Pic for attention:

Very thankful to those who protect and serve our nation and our communities. Took care of Mike’s 2017 TRD OR this afternoon. He’s a Marine and a Sheriff in the NOVA area. He’s got a great looking Tacoma that now runs like it should. “Night and day difference” is how he described his Tacoma afterwards.814D81A7-540F-4CA5-8536-AB72799532DA.jpg

Had a weird issue the other day. I'm on pro version 6 I think. Not sure what throttle I have, but the the ECT button switches me from lite to normal or normal to sport or something like that. I had ECT on and was at a light. When I accelerated from the light some asshat cut me off and I had to brake. When I hit the accelerator again it was like nothing was happening. Sort of that vapor-lock feel of old. It very slowly accelerated for 5 or so seconds and then finally decided to act normal. I've tried to recreate it and I sort of can but not really the same long lag. Anyone else experience this? I'm hoping to upgrade to version 9 before long so maybe that's the fix or is this something else?
