It’s quite a bit different for manuals, which is why I want to be sure before I drive 4 hours and pay someone $200 to flash it haha. I just flashed OVTune last week but luckily that guy only charged me $100. Unfortunately he doesn’t offer the KD tunes so I can’t use him again

What did he flash or do you know? 1/2 gear should be immediately noticeable with the tune.

Im running SFOB 87 on the latest TSB. He also applied some of @tonered linear throttle edits. Feels pretty good, and I was fine with it until I read about [potentially] more torque and smoothness with KD 6.0 :anonymous:

After a couple more weeks with some mixed driving, still loving the LT overall, but do have a couple of nitpicks, one that SLT may address and one that I'm not sure any tune can, yet.

    - Feels like about half the time, the truck is jumpy in low speed situations like in a parking lot, or if I'm off-road not needing 4/4L, but trying to be delicate with the throttle. Also sometimes feels like the first 5% of the throttle is 20% of the power, and then the gas pedal travel after that doesn't do much. I suppose I should try SLT and see if that fits my style better.

    - I've noticed a few times that in situations where I'm traveling at 40-70 mph and need to get up and go as quickly as possible, after flooring the gas, it seems to take ages to decide to kick down multiple gears (4->2 or 5->3). Sometimes it seems to step down gear by gear, or when it does go to the lowest possible gear, it like a solid 2-Mississippi. I realize this isn't a DCT and it's a truck trans, but it just seems alarmingly slow. Safe to assume that the current VF / KDM can't really address shift reaction time at WOT? And is this something that might become doable with the upcoming VF features in their release, pertaining to trans mapping?

Not a complaint or anything, but through 3 tanks of gas I haven't seen any change in MPG. Mixed driving, and I always hover at 15-15.5.

Whoever you get to flash it, tell them to use the XT file. It has the extra throttle.

Just shift to S mode if you want to pass quick. It’s what I do anyway when I want to pass quick. Works great for me then I go back to D when it’s safe.

That's not always a safe option, to have to rely on that in a situation where you need to get going as quickly as possible, especially in an emergency scenario. There is zero reason to ever have the truck take multiple seconds to downshift when WOT.

It’s just like driving a manual . Still has to downshift. I like the way it is. 5th and 6th are very useful for daily driving. I usually drive to big bear and this tune is perfect for me.

Quite a few things at this point..
Got the 87 octane KDMax 6.0 LT tune yesterday and I'm already loving it more than the OVt2.0 with THX. Even with LT the throttle seems more powerful than before with OV2.0&THX, but feels easier to manage it if that makes sense. Truck feels even lighter than before, at times I feel like I'm driving a sports car almost. I've only put in roughly 45 miles so this is just my initial big takeaway. I'm still contemplating if I'll want the SLT over LT for tip in, but I need to test more and see how things end after the 500 mile break-in period for the tune. I'll be taking it off-roading tomorrow to test it out on the trails. I'm a damn happy camper though so far! Thank you @PapaRee and @TWTaco for developing this tune, and a huge shout out to my tune guy @cemented for getting the tune to me!

Shane. I'd do it for you. I flashed it myself and then paid the $100 because I felt it was warranted.
