So today I got to drive my truck. I didn't think that 9.0 could be improved, but they did it!!
It's much smoother and easier to drive now, and it seems like gas mileage has improved also. Mind you, I had also put an Anderson Engineering Manifold Spacer on the truck a couple months ago also, and that just makes it that much better to drive.
    Loving the improved tune!

I’m on 6.0, any changes that stand out to justify the upgrade? Love the tune by the way

Yes. Just yes. Much much smoother than 9.0. From 6.0 should be a very noticeable difference.

Too early to say what my long term impressions are but......just had @TWTaco take the time to come my way and set me up with the new 10.0 tune and all I can say is wowwww. Big thanks Dave!! What a noticeable and instant improvement to the drive ability factor overall. Feels like a truck should feel.

I will update once I run a few tanks of gas through it with some further feedback.

    Cheers!

I personally loved the 6.0 tune! I’ve tried all of them from that one until now and I love 10.0 best to date. The only one that didn’t flip my trucks trigger was “KDMAX Pro” for some reason that one and “My” truck didn’t jive as well.

Truly these trucks have a mind of there on.

10.0 is smoothest yet on shifting , throttle has been tamed down just a smidge to take the edge off the tip in. Torque improved and most down in the usable range of 2500-3000 rpm where needed.

And my mileage is up as well. No guarantee on mileage but most do see bumps.

Chris @wahoobie remote tuned my truck this week. Excellent experience and customer service. Answered all of my questions. Went with the light throttle calibration for my truck with 4.88 and 33s, currently with some extra weight as well (overland stuff...). Night and day difference. This is how the truck should have been from the factory. Definitely in my top 3 mods and wish I would have done it sooner. I have even found my opinion of the trans and 3.5L motor is now changed for the positive. I can attribute most of the shortcomings to bad factory tuning vs being a total underpowered and confused dog of a drivetrain combo. Not saying it is a sports car now, but wow, it is massive leap forward.

    Yes.
Each time we have made it better, more drivability, more low end torque, and more efficient/MPG's.
    It is worth the upgrade.
Thanks for your support since 6.0!

Thanks for meeting so early Tom. Toms 2020 OR needed updated and flashed the Pro-10.0 with Normal throttle. Look forward to hearing how you and your son are enjoying the Pro-10.0 after you get some miles on it.
I will PM you a little later today.

Can the tune be optimized for header and intake on the 2.7? Would love to see what a tune on a 2.7 with lce header and afe dry filter would do. I have been reading good results for header and air filter. Also read good things about the 2.7 tune.

Can people share their direct experience with the KDMAX tune and MPG results? Up, down, by how much, and other relevant info like mods that you have and type of driving you do/where you see your MPG changes coming from. I know results will vary. I know your truck drives better and you want to tell me how much I will love it, but this question is just about MPGs ;). Thanks!

Stock 2019 TRD Sport. Only drive line related mod is 1.25” wheel spacers.

On 89 octane (which I was running before the tune) I saw an increase from 18 to 19.5 mpg.

The last few tanks I’ve switched to 91 non-ethanol fuel and gained another 1MPG.

One thing I have noticed is my truck seems to benefit, relative to fuel economy, if I occasionally get into the throttle a bit. So when I merge on the highway for example I’ll give her the juice a bit provided I can do so safely. Clearing carbon deposits or something like that? I have no idea…but it helps!

I personally saw no gain in fuel economy going from 9.0 to 10.0 (although there were certainly other gains!), but I’ve seen many others say they did.

For the record, I bought the tune as a customer before I joined KDMax from @wahoobie (Chris) so my experience with 9.0 was from the same perspective as any other user. In fact, that experience is why I offer it now.

All you need to do is some reading. So many reports of fuel mileage increase.

@kdubzubz here’s just one customer of mine speaking to mileage’s.

As others have already stated or if you read through the comments mileage can’t be guaranteed due to so many variables. But “most” do.

I’m a tuner but that shouldn’t make my experience any less than a customer. I know we can tend to be bias. But I do my best in my videos and comments to be honest and plain in the tunes benefits.

My current mileage can range from 18.7 to 21.2 per tank. Any prolong idling will reduce MPG. But on average I’m seeing 20 ish on mixed driving.

    My truck spec’s:

    2022 TRD OR
    3”x2” lift
    33’s
    Winch bumper
    Winch
    Bumper light
    Steel sliders
About 50# additional weight in cab and bed at all times.

    IMG_2632.jpg
    IMG_3336.png
Best way to find out if the tune is going to meet your expectations is to try it. Most of us Tuner offer a 30 day or better money back satisfaction guarantee on the tune doing what it claims to (Better acceleration, shifting, and drivability) mileages is not one of the claims being made but is a potential benefit.
You can call me if you want more information. I’ll be glad to answer any questions :)

2023 access cab 6mt. no lift or armor. v10 tune. no change in mpg here. still barely gets 16mpg when my 3 full size v8 trucks get 20+... throttle response is improved but sporadic. i will take off and have the pedal down 25% and hold it there but acceleration isnt linear. it will hit a certain rpm and act like pedal is suddenly down 75% and truck takes off super fast making accelerating not very smooth. no power gains could be felt. i made back to back runs up a steep hill at 80kmh in 6th,5th, and 4th (manual trans). flooring it at the same point at bottom and seeing how far the speed drops or rises. i took videos of each run planning to edit a video showing off the gains. there were none. speeds were exactly the same confirming what i felt. crossing fingers its just because its freshly tuned and needs a few hundred miles to learn.
