    Caught up with Josh in Clifton Park, NY on my way home the tuning meet in Rome. Got his super clean 2018 Tacoma setup with our KDMax Pro v10.0 ECU tune to address his frustration with the erratic shifting and poor throttle response. We also adjusted his alternator output to account for his newly installed AGM battery. He was immediately impressed with the outcome, wearing that KDMax smile that makes this whole process so rewarding!

    ok first thing I have to say is Paparee is the man!!!! Talk about customer support. He spent almost an hour on facetime with me getting me set up so I could flash the TSB on my truck so I could flash the tune. Thank you so much for your patience with me as we went through the process. We finally got it and it all worked out. Whew!! So since this is a new truck to me (2013 trd offroad prerunner V6 auto) I did the ecu reset and the tcu so my truck can learn my driving. I took the truck out for a ride on the normal throttle setting and by the time I got home it was running great. I will try sport setting tomorrow to see if I like that better. Otherwise I could feel a power increase over stock for sure. I also had this tune on my 2022 and loved it. It had fixed most of the transmission hunting issues and had better power. Now the 4.0 is a different animal but so far IMO is better and the 5speed auto is way better than the 6speed with its double overdrive that it cant make up its mind what gear to be in. This is going to be my forever truck as Iam 55, retired and wont really be needing anything else. If you are on the fence about this tune dont be. You will get the best customer support and your truck will run better then it ever has. Thank you again Papa for all your help today.

    Flashed the sport throttle tune this morning. It isn’t a big jump from the normal throttle setting. When I flashed my 2022 it was a big difference between throttle settings. Maybe had something to do with the 3rd gen ect button?

    I felt the same initially, but it continued to get peppier as time went on. Still not a crazy jump between the 2 settings.

    FOX 2.5 DSC and some other stuff too.
    I ran the 7.0 file for a couple years before I recently did a gear change to 4.88 and needed to do an update. I fell victim to internet peer pressure to try one of the other major competitor's tune. Gave it a try for a couple of months and man was I disappointed in the performance of the other guys tune. Shifting 1-4 was harsh, the engine always sounded like it was working hard, often felt like the truck was in the wrong gear, even would getting knocking in some situations. I just switched back to KDMax with the updated 10.0 file and I could not believe how much better the truck drove. Take off and shifting is so smooth. I forgot what I had to start with. Major regret in wasting my time with anything else. The tuners are always making claims that theirs make more horsepower or more torque or theirs has more low end torque. I DON'T CARE!!! Just give me a tune that makes the truck drive smooth and predictable. KDMax does that.
