Is that the name of the app? Is it Carplay compatible or only phone compatible? Link perhaps? Thanks.

This is mentioned OBD Fusion app running on Android headunit via BT OBDII adapter.
App is free, you pay for toyota PIDs(last time I checked was $16), adapter about $15. HU was $380 + miscellaneous stuff.

I have a wireless CarPlay head unit and now that I see this, I wonder if I can run it on CarPlay. I just need to read the specifics.

805 Tacoma Tuning was able to start off the New Year right with a visit from Rick, aka @Topanga Taco, who came to see us from Topanga Canyon.

Rick did his research prior and was very well informed about the improvements he was looking to experience for himself.

Our conversations started off by determining the best throttle setting which would suit his on and off road driving style and driving habits. KDMAX Pro 10 set to Normal checked all the boxes.

So..we did what we do best and off he went for his maiden test drive!

If you ask Rick himself, he’ll let ya know what he thinks about the improved shift behavior and overall power enhancement. It reminds him of driving a good ole high performance classic equipped with a smooth GM Powerglide transmission!

He wanted to give his 2018 Tacoma the KDMAX treatment and he got what he was looking for!

Thanks for coming to see us Rick, we look forward to seeing ya down the road.

    Happy New Year, everyone!

I told Tom I was going to give it a week to see how much I would enjoy the tune and report back to him. Shoot, after this morning’s drive, I’m convinced. Took all but two days:hattip:

What I enjoyed about today’s drive around town looking for a Cerakote product, was the pedal input to scoot around is minimal. I mean minimal input and I was moving. The stock ECT mode was the same in that a little pedal went a long way. But the rpm changes are better. Way better. I can totally see saving fuel. Digging the drivability overall. Totally stoked. Good stuff.

805 Tacoma Tuning introduces another owner and truck into the KDMAX family!

As it goes, Brian found one of our business cards placed on his vehicle. Luckily, a previous customer heard about this and advised Brian that 805 Tacoma Tuning is the real deal and to reach out asap.

Otherwise, that card may have just ended up in the land of abandoned business cards if you ask Brian:rofl:

Thankfully, Brian reached out! We decided to set him up with KDMAX Pro 10 set with our Sport throttle setting due to some additional weight and larger tires that he has added to the vehicle.

Seems like a perfect fit. After his test drive, he said the truck performed awesome and shifted great. He even compared it to the operation and performance of a Powerglide transmission. The 2nd reference to this in a week by separate individuals.

We appreciate you reaching out to us, Brian, and we hope to see you around town.

    ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

At 805 Tacoma Tuning, we believe addressing performance related issues where they matter most, provide the building blocks for greatness.

Esthetics without functionality won’t take you far…let us help you get where you’re going in a vehicle that performs at its best.

We share the same excitement as our customers, knowing the benefit they will receive when they request 805 Tacoma Tuning to bring KDMAX and their vehicle together. The results are shocking .

Improved drivability is the goal. This is achieved by:

    • Optimizing Air/Fuel Ratio/Economy

    • Eliminating Erratic Shifting

    • Improving Throttle Response

    • Increasing Horsepower (20hp) and Torque (33ftlb)

I upgraded from v7 I think to v10 about 6 months ago and ever since my gas mileage has been a bit worse. Have others noted this? I would be nice if I could roll back easily and test that, but maybe others have.

For reference, when I first got KDM it was version 6 I think. It did not have much impact on my mileage and I was usually around 21mpg average calculated per tank sometimes a bit more, rarely less. V7 also didn't have much impact. Now with v10 I'm consistently right at or even struggling to hit 18mpg. Not huge, but still annoying.

While I did size up my tires to 265/75/16 that was back on v6 as was my 2" lift. No mods since going to v7 or between when I was on v7 to now so really the only thing I can think of is a change in v10.

    Thanks.

Hmmm. My MPGs have been the best on version 10.0. And very consistent. I’m in Louisiana, so I’m not sure winter gas affects me. My mpgs stay the same year round.
I wonder if it’s the winter gas? Or maybe a reset and reflash will help?
Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.

Winter blend fuels will take a hit on your MPG’s. I was getting a little over 19 hwy then winter blend fuel was released and saw a 2 mpg hit. Contact your tuner and have them do a reset and reflash of your tune. We switch back to summer blend fuel usually around March. Your larger heavier tires will have a factor in your mpg’s.

Winter gas and temps might have an impact, but since I got the update in July I had several months of normal gas and weather and no real change, but I don't know when that switch happens so hard to say for sure.

I'd be willing to give the reset/reflash a try, but no tuners very close so it's kind of a hassle to schedule. I guess I can wait until summer and see if the winter gas is most of it and if not try and get it reflashed then.

Anyone else in Colorado have any thoughts on the effect of winter gas and/or any changes you've seen upgrading to v10 from a previous version?

ETA: will try cleaning MAF sensor

I know tires have an impact, but the tires are the same as when I was on v7 so I don't think they can account for the mpg hit. I'll wait and see if/how things change when we go back to summer gas.
