Was it worth it to go from KdM to BH2.1?

I feel like KDMax 10 was overall a really smooth, well rounded tune for my truck. I never really had any thing that REALLY bugged me on it, but it never did anything superb. Again, just well rounded from what I remember.

BH2.1 Active Duty has a few quirks in my experience so far...the biggest one that is really killing me is this stutter at 20mph. I've talked to others and they confirm they experience it too. I posted about it a page or so ago but I think I'll have to reach out via email to see if there is a fix for that. BH2.1 definitely has more get up and go than KDMax and it feels GOOD, but as result MPG suffers..which is to be expected. Having gear lock for mountains/freeway is great but KDMax has that as well. The other popular tune I came from did not, or at least was not offered in the default files.

The two things I'd like fixed/refined or however you want to put it, is the stutter at 20mph and in certain gears, minimal input seems to makes it shift.

To answer your question, for the price of $100, I think it is worth the upgrade. If the two things I mentioned get fixed or improved upon, it'll take the cake as my personal favorite tune.

after a few days on the 2.1 tune the only difference i actually noticed was the delay in tip in. kd tune was reving immediately at slightest touch of the gas pedal which is actually what i requested. no noticeable power gains anywhere in the curve that could be felt on the butt dyno and mines a manual trans.

also many weeks in advanced and through multiple facebook comments and emails prior and even adding it to the final form to fill out i made it pretty clear i wanted the rev limiter raised which i was initially told was possible by marc. not once at any point after was i told that was not gona be possible. got the tune and sure enough. no raised rev limiter. i asked about it and he said they are too busy to do customized tunes and have no time frame when they can. would have been nice to know that before i wasted my money on this tune. was only a $100 but still. why couldn't he simply tell me he couldn't complete my request instead of ignoring it and taking that $100 anyways? which is also odd since its a free upgrade in person from their tuners which is much more work than just sending a tune pack through email.

in the end i will be switching the truck back to kd v10 when i get the chance as it was a downgrade for what i want the truck to be.

You were told initially that, yes, 14 weeks ago. Things change. It happens.

It was explained to you why that offer is now suspended, due to the immense time-sink that is involved in converting an entire other network of clients over to the new tune.

Complaining here does nothing sir. It will not change what you were told; it will happen once I have the additional free time available again to entertain requests like that. You can wait patiently, or elect to not wait at all and simply move on

As was explained to you, if I entertained everyone's requests they come to me with before they've even tried the tune in the first place, I'd have no free time to myself whatsoever. My current 2-3 hours of free time per day would be zero.

I’m getting the tune later today and was told that when you switch, your BH tune is covered by them vs. no coverage on the KD tunes that are no longer supported. I could have misunderstood, but that’s another benefit to getting it.

your right things change but it would have taken nothing from your day to have told me that offer was suspended when i was asking both you and christian for this from the days leading up to getting the tune. it was clear that is what i wanted but at no point did you ever feel the need to tell me this during any of the conversations or even when i was purchasing the tune. do you not feel that should have been stated to me ahead of time? i understand the reason why i couldn't get it but dont understand why i couldn't of been told before purchase leaving me to find out on my own after the fact. if i was told then fine. i woulda have went about my day and no big deal.

this isnt complaining. this is my real world experience and review.

Can anyone running the supercharged Stryker tune share their long term fuel trims at idle/Low RPM cruise? Wondering if I've got something going on with mine since I'm seeing a pretty big spread between bank 1 and 2. At idle I'll see ~15% on bank 2 and ~5% on bank 1. Cant seem to find any leaks, also replaced 02 sensors and the readings are still the same. It will bounce back to 0% intermittently which I think might be based on what injection mode the truck is using (port/direct/both). Just curious if others are seeing the same thing..

i mean im still willing to wait until you guys arent busy even if its a couple months time and give a revision a go. the rest of the tune feels good. it feels just like the ott tune did. not as agressive as the kd tune (which they did a custom tune for me). i know power starts to drop off before 7k but ive found the few hundred extra rpm makes a pretty big difference. especially since if you hit the limiter it will cut rpms unless you lift off the throttle. for that i liked the old ov tunes that went right to 7250 as standard.

    Hi Everyone / Anyone.

Quick question... I currently have KDMAX Pro (Sport) on my 2019 TRD Pro (installed in southern NH in Jan 2022) and am wondering what is the current / most recent tune that I should be looking to upgrade to? Also wondering who the local guy (southern NH / eastern MA) is who I should talk to about it and if the cost to upgrade is still $100(?) ?

OK, maybe that's more than 1 question...

    Thanks.

I’ve been in contact with Alex about this as I pm’d him about it. Tom has been a super cool brotown helping me with this. He recently wiped out the ECU’s learned data as was suggested, and unfortunately it’s still there. But I can power through the “pause” now, unlike before, where it would pause and pedal input would do nothing. I’m going to give the tune some heavy mileage this month. Looking forward to inputting new data

Three super bad ass things about 2.1 is that it has HIGHLY reduced the harsh downshift so many of us experience from the transmission coming to a stop. Most of the time it comes to a stop smooooth. The other times, unless I’m looking for it, I won’t notice it. It’s that much improved. Another thing that is improved, is the harsh thump I would get from pressing the throttle in traffic once it starts to roll, off a 20 mph coast. That has always been there since I rolled off the lot. And finally I use 2nd gear to climb the hill to my home. It powers up this hill like nobody’s business. Love it.

They put a lot of effort into this tune and makes the naturally aspirated 3.5 fun times, like I’m going to try and yank this stick to a better location to mill under the shade!

The "learned" data has nothing to do with poor tuning the drivetrain. Whoever tests tunes don't bother to test all operational regions.

Alls I’m going to say is you have to relax dude. You want it improved like YOU want, then tune it yourself. They’ll eventually iron shit out and this tune will be game changing and game over for a naturally “turd” engine :0)
