As a manual owner, I found the new BH tune to have a terrible off-idle response. I nearly stalled my truck multiple times. Don’t know why anybody would want it that way. I don’t like an overly sensitive throttle, but that one was like you press the throttle and it didn’t do anything.

I feel the OP’s pain on not wanting to pay more since we’ve already paid for VFtuner and tactrix hardware…

Heres the deal I already had a tuner tune me. Then later down the road i opt for the VF kit. So the only way to get this free update BH 2.1 is to meet with my local tuner which is like couple states away. Basically my VF kit is worthless in this situation unless I pay the 100 for the files. Because I cannot get the files so I'll have to meet the OG tuner just for the free update. It's free for a live person to person meet up but NOT with guys that have the VF kit. Does that make sense? And mine was purchase the latest kdmax 10.0 after the Jan.1st 2023.

that was what i noticed immediately aswell. after getting going is fine but its like the first 5% of throttle does nothing and i did end up stalling more than once lol.

I was pretty shocked to see how the initial throttle reaction was after all the praise I saw posted online during beta testing.

All it took was one drive, got back home and went a different route. Flashed to something else and decided not to use the new files.

I certainly recommend anyone with an odd behavior work directly with the resource they received the files or tune service from. I support my customers and so do they so if you have a throttle behavior we troubleshoot to resolve. Though posting online can get some chatter it's not where you get direct vendor support. I am not saying there's anything wrong with posting your specific concerns/issues/outcomes anywhere you want, but certainly ALSO share that with who you paid money for services or files to. You want a great tune and I am sure the MT owners I've worked with for YotaWerx Blackhawk are happier then the stock (or prior tune) they've had. I have trouble thinking their trucks are more special than yours though. I am seeing a trend that more MT owners like WW then AD when they have stock-like setups so if you have too much throttle please consider it and talk with your resource...especially if you are regeared. We all want great tunes and why some are very happy and others are not for the same files

I logon every 6 or so months to see if there was a new KDMaxx version. See and figure out all this acquisition crap, email YW as a self-tuner, and told to fork over $300 to move to BH. Ya, no thanks. Especially after reading the last 20 pages of threads and some of the responses. KDMv10 is it - pigeonholed.

Good for you, guess you can say that when you have skin in the game and are not a happy KDMaxx customer. Not a chance in hell I'm forking over anything.

i did not consider it an issue and assumed it was intentional tbh. the tune im coming from was super sensitive and my daily is a 4 cylinder with lightweight flywheel and pulleys so its muscle memory for me to have a touchy throttle. also marc went back and redid my tune for me once so im not gona ask for anything else. this will probably be last tune i run before i get the prochager kit in the future

I've always been happy tune after tune as my truck continues to improve with each calibration. To me it's been worth the time and any costs to get it optimized of something was off. I am even seeing a lot of posts elsewhere on owners switching from other tunes so this does not seem to be a KDMAX Pro thing. I see that many owners just want their trucks running as good as they can and they continue to invest in ways to do that. For me that's tuning and worth it. I am on Blackhawk 2.1 for my automatic and getting the balance of power delivery, shift behavior, and even solid mpg results beyond my personal expectations. So yeah it's worth $ to me but I don't spend money on other mods that other owners do that they are happy with so it's all good. We all like certain things and put value in different areas so what is well worth it to me may not be for someone else. Nothing wrong with that at all. Good luck with your continued ownership and building it out your way!

I paid $100 to switch to BH from KDM 9.0 and in my opinion, it’s an even better tune. I’m really glad I switched. The low end torque is very noticeable. Highway driving is a lot more enjoyable. When you’re doing 70 and you hit an incline or need to pass, very little pedal is needed to drop down to 5th for what is needed. KDM had a big gap at that speed before it would usually drop to 4th when I didn’t need that much power. It’s hard to describe exactly what is happening below 55, but it feels like you just have power at any time where the other tune gave you a lot of dead pedal still. I have an AT and I’m stock for what it’s worth. I’m also on WW version and the pedal sensitivity is very good. Similar to KDM in that regard.

Well said. The throttle just seems to be there when needed without the dead pedal. Only got about 50 miles but it's way better than kdmax 9

I would have probably paid $100 to have access to it - but I had no idea. Never got an email or notice on here that was an option. Just given the blowoff line of "Unfortunately, the time period for a free transitioned/upgrade to YotaWerx has expired". Top notch support there. How did you find out?

I'm MT so KDv10 works just fine for me over the last 10 months.

The guy that tuned me originally let me know, just last week. What you were told sounds like BS. They should have taken care of you. I’d try reaching other tuners to see if they will give you the $100 deal. I was told that was the going rate and it didn’t sound like the period was over.
