I don't know the ratios but yeah I'd say that's a pretty good guess based on feel. It's more of an ease into rather than an off/on.

Nah, I looked at the stock throttle and the 2.0 throttle and made the WifeTip like those-- 1-6th gear.
I personally hate it, but I have been driving with the super aggressive throttle for a while and have gotten used to it.
    It is addictive!
But I do understand that people coming from the stock throttle settings will have to get used to having more.
Eventually, they are going to ask for it to be raised, LOL.

KDMax-6.0-SLT Tune (as of 04-23-21) 18" TRD rep Wheels, 265-70 Falken AT3W's, HPS Intake (crazy LOUD), Prinsu Rack with handle lights, ALL PRO Apex Sliders, RCI Aluminum Tank Skid, HB Train Horns, Pneumatics box in bed, Every single bulb is swapped to L.E.D.
Got mine today - played around with the different files - settled on 04A61-Reg-KDMax-6.0-SLT-L.
    Love it.
The regular "less tip in" (LT) was a little too neck snappy for me and my passenger. I probably could've got used to it though.
The "slightly less tip in" (SLT) is perfect. To me at least.
I hope I'm understanding and referencing his abbreviation correctly.
Whatever - I got the tune I want in my truck.
I was just watching my dash cam vids from earlier today - now I want to go for a ride just because right now.
Never had that feeling with this truck before.

The ECU TSB and then Matts 2.0 tune that I've been on for about a month seems like it fixed all the dumb stuff Toyota should've done from the start.
IMHO its like a nice stable reliable predictable base line conservative tune.
It woke up and smoothed out my taco for sure.

    But this guys ^ tune..WOW.
Its more like a performance and smiles per mile minded tune. The kind of night and day tune I remember from my VW tuning days.
The little I've driven on it so far in S mode with ECT on, it has super responsive throttle, it holds gears longer, it actually downshifts when coming to a stop, stays in proper gear for speed - no dumb up shift for no reason.
I haven't even driven it very much yet or tried it with ECT off or in regular drive mode but I estimate ill be buying new rear tires often with this tune. Probably a ticket or two also.

If you're the spirited driver type, try this guys tune. Its fun.
$100 for his hard work plus its an instant DL.
    No brainer. Totally worth it.

Oh, and the file "calibrates" fine with vF Tuner just like the OV files do.

BTW - I reset my TCU when I settled on the file I wanted - I can tell ill be driving it differently now so I want a fresh learn.
I assume that's what it'll be doing at least.

ALSO - I'm in the St. Petersburg Fl. and sometimes Sarasota Fl. area if anyone around here needs help send me a PM - maybe we can work something out.

    Brian

Finally got around to flashing the tune (premium LT) using vftuner 1.2.9.9.8. No issues. Only driven about 70 miles on it but so far it's quite nice. Too early to notice a significant change in power compared to Kruiser 4.0, but I can definitely tell it's smoother. Look forward to a longer-term test.

Are you running the regular or LT? Still on ovtune 2.0 and want the bad ass performance but the way it reads and talking to one of the guys that tunes, he recommends the LT which is the middle throttle. Thanks

91 performance tune . I think regular tip in. I got used to it after 500 miles. I like how gently you push and it just go. It feels like the throttle is cable controlled. My wife does not like it though. My advantage haha. Btw tune just keep getting better after 500 miles.
Just had the fuel pump replacement done and they didn't notice the tune . No mention but the young guy who handed.me my taco back said " your truck drives great " I just smiled.kudos to @TWTaco and @PapaRee for a great tune.

    Shout out to @PapaRee
I have been going back and forth on tunes with him over the last month. Started from M to W and have now finished with the wifetip. I drive my truck off-road a lot (deer lease) and all the previous tunes have been aggressive on the street which were awesome but for me when I was driving in the woods it was to hard to control while crawling along. I was gone for a week and did not realize he had made a wifetip until he told me. Just installed it yesterday and man this is perfect. Like I told him I am amazed how Toyota made these trucks like turds from the factory. I too was think about trading for something else because the truck just flat sucked driving!
So for anyone who offroads or Rock crawls make sure you get the right tune for your needs. Especially anyone driving long distances to get the tune. Luckily I have done all the installs myself.

Will be in Knoxville TN at Bakers Creek next Friday the 30th, and Windrock MTB Park Saturday May 1st.

If interested I can work out a time to tune anyone's truck that meets me at these designated areas. It's a short vacation so I will not be traveling from these areas once there. If anyone would like to make something happen let me or PapaRee know.

If interested please provide info. Model Year, Tire Size, and Gears. Also rather or not you've had a TSB done before.

    Thanks,

If interested please signup on Facebook: -OR- DM me on TW with any questions or interest in attending. I already have a TW-only member interested (thanks for reaching out @J_Hacker)!

I’ll be offering KDMax 6.0 tuning for all 2016-2021 V6 Tacomas for any AT/MT transmission that is ready to improve pedal feel, smooth shifting, no more gear hunting, and a performance boost to boot. I can offer several options across all possible combinations of trucks of tire size, gearing, octane, and throttle aggression. These tunes are build from the OVTune VFTuner platform from the original OVTune2.0 base files.

    WHY KDMAX?
After months of tweaking and feedback our KDMax Tuning Group are able to deliver this amazing work. The current KDMax 6.0 is a solid Performance tune:
-More Power at low and high speeds
-Smoother throttle-especially from a stop and low speeds
    -Smoother shifting
-Peppy in 1-4, but holds 5-6 on highway for good mileage
-Significant improvement in initial accelerator pedal feel (no more dead spot or slow reaction)
-MPG is subjective but from my personal experience I see at (or better) than stock mileage while also being enjoyable to drive and able to get hauling if you want from a stop....imagine that 1f609_57911f14b846d8280d9a4585f49314c757ae78e2.png

I choose this location as it is close to Pocahontas State Park ( ) for anyone interested in some great MTB trails. They also have hiking and it's a popular picnic spot.

Wish there was a tuner close by. Guess that’s the one downside living in a less populated area

I have been very interested in this for a while! Sorry for the deluge of questions!

How safe is the tune? Sorry for the generic question, I plan to have this truck for a long time. I have not seen a single person complain against the tune but I have not seen many people speak out about the safety / longevity of it.

How does the throttle sensitivity of non-tuned ECT compare to the various revisions of the KDMax Performance tune (Standard, LT, SLT, WifeTip:rofl:)? I am completely used to using ECT all the time, so that would give me the information for selecting which version of the tune I think would be best.

If there is an update to the tune, do we have to pay again to receive it? Not against the idea of it, as I believe that it is very reasonably priced. Does anyone provide the tune service for Southern Maryland? I have seen the service map but was uncertain how far Tuners are willing to travel!

I am pretty tech savvy, however the thought of messing up my truck has me terrified to perform the tune on my own. Has anyone created a comprehensive (soup to nuts) guide to performing the tune? I have the OVTune OBDII plug-in box and the cable that I purchased years ago and never got around to doing the tune. Can this be reused if I decide to do the tune myself?

Thanks for all the work that has been done on this tune!

What did you make the ect button do with this one? Also like stock or a bit more aggressive?
