The first time that your ECU bricks, mid flash, also ranks up there :anonymous:

Prevailing wisdom says that the communication with the ECU was interrupted. How I don’t know. I’ve flashed many times and never had a problem. Another school of thought says that the new vF flash tool malfunctioned. Recovered the ECU using the old computer based flash tool (under supervision).

It wasn’t available yet. Brick happened on Mar 31.

edit: plus I was directed to use the old flash tool.

Dutchjw thanks for giving your valuable feedback to all on your experience tuning your truck with the KDMax tune! This will certainly help those that decide to go this route. The goal is to hit the mark on customer satisfaction and any way we can and glad that its working out to your favor. This tune is also made in part that it is one of the biggest reasons we do not want Tacoma owners to trade/sell their rides in simply on the subpar drivability. Its a shame, it shouldn't be the case and if this tune could bring that excitement back again by golly we’ll do what we can to bring it and keep it that way! Glad you are liking it! Lets keep our Tacomas and enjoy it for many more years to come!

    V/r,

    Alex

So, I have been on the kdmax xt file (extra throttle) for a full tank (with premium fuel) I really like the feel of it.

Going to go back to the standard file with premium for the next tank to see how it feels.

Matt @Alcatraz1015 and @dutchcontractor are out of the Nashville area. Not sure if it works for you, but reach out to them and see what they can work with you. Their contact info is on the google maps link on the first post.

Gotcha if for some reason they are unable to work with you, as a last resort I may be able to but only if the guys I mentioned are unable to. I will be driving through Knoxville in July if you still need help by then.

If you know at least two, three, or more Tacoma drivers in the area interested in getting tuned it may be worth the trip in the future!
