Yea, I am 150 miles from Mobile, AL.
I met a couple guys from Pensacola last year in Biloxi (halfway).
I can do that if you can get a couple more guys. Or we can work out something to meet halfway.

Just PM me when you are ready and we can work it out.

2017 Tacoma in for a TSB Update and the KDMax tune.

I love to see the working trucks coming in to to get tuned.. Calibration is not just for people looking for performance from their truck, it also makes for a great daily driver.. Linear throttle response, smoother shifting and no more gear hunting and 4th gears hangs are only some of the benefits.

I saw the graph on page 61, but are there dyno numbers that show normal driving rpms? It looks like the dyno posted shows rpms at 4000 and up.

Was able to get the KDMAX tune done on my 2021 MT by @SubaruTheTacoma. Great guy answered all my questions and was great to deal with. He has a nice organized set up when doing your tune and breaks it down to you so that you can understand what the tune will do for you. I decided to go with the KDMAX when I saw a post where @PapaRee mentioned to another user that he was willing to let the tune do the talking and if he did not like it he would not have to pay for it. Anyone that can stand behind work like that will earn my business. Its been about 2 weeks since I got the tune and all I can say is that its great in my opinion, as soon as we took out for drive after it was tuned I noticed that the truck felt like if could breath and the power was nice and steady when hitting the gas. It's something that you have to experience for yourself to understand the feeling. I can’t help myself every time I drive it and not smash on the pedal with a big smile due to it feeling like a completely different truck. If you are thinking about getting it all I can say is get it, you won’t regret it.

Thanks again to all those involved in creating this and thanks to @SubaruTheTacoma for the tune.

Ok. I have been on a slightly altered XT file for the last 300 miles. I asked for a slightly less throttle file for varies reasons....

Anyway, after said miles, I decided to go back to the reg kdmax file.

I thought I wanted a bit extra throttle, and while nice, I noticed some inconsistencies in the throttle response. It felt almost jerky if not applying smooth and consistent input ( I did not notice this on the standard file)

For commuting traffic, I did not like this feel.

I absolutely love the power though and I don't think I will miss that too much on the reg file.

I just flashed back and going to go fill up.

One other reason for flashing.back.was the damn gas prices sorting, thanks ( certain part affiliate here) mods might be mad lol.... I digress

So, I will see how I like going back to the reg file. Perhaps another slight edit would fill the gasp.... More to come....

i agree with this. if you're aggressive with first gear on XT it will eventually bite you. i quite like the tune and throttle, however, and my strategy has been to learn its quirks like I've done with all the previous OV tunes. this tune is far easier to learn, less quirks, maybe just the one.

depending on how I'm driving the mileage is varying from 12.5 to 17, but usually 15 or less. i built the thing up for a fun drive, so i guess I'm committed to paying to play.

I started with regular tip in, switched to SLT (super light tip in) I am guessing and now want to switch to (wife tip in) again guessing. If possible could someone list all the available options for tip in fuel with a short description. It would also be interesting to have a tally of what people are choosing for tip in choice. Thanks

If a person switched to wife-tip would he still have the same shifting strategy? The shifting is fantastic, delayed shifting, converter lockup and the way it holds in gear. I can’t say enough good about the shift strategy. Thank you for the reply.

The only thing changed is the throttle. Shifting is the same.
But you may get the urge to watch the Housewives shows and get cramps once a month.
