Got my roof basket extension installed yesterday had my brother help me put this up there. I'm curious on how much this will affect the tune on a long trip

Are you guys running the premium or regular gas tunes? I’ve been running premium with 4.0 and now about to flash 6.0 and been thinking of going back to regular. Thoughts on differences? Thanks!

But for a super retarted price they are light right? That's a question I never asked how much they weigh

See I'm a budget overlander so I went with a rola roof basket they said 55lbs . Now what worries me is the taco cross bars are rated for 150lbs correct me if I'm wrong so that leaves me roughly a light 100 lbs of shit to put up on my roof .

Is that 150 pounds static weight? The thing most people fail to realize is the bars might carry the 150 pounds when it’s stable but if you start rock crawling or shifting the weight around the way the basket is attached to your bars might be the weak point.

As long as you don’t plan on having the 150 pounds shifting around in the rack and doing minimal “off roading” then you should be fine.

Yeah I don't plan on doing any rock crawling more or less just easy trails cause I'll be 1,500 + miles away from home gonna play smart so we can still make it home

Any hopes for a tune for the Magnuson Supercharger? I haven't had mine installed yet, but from the comments on those threads, the tune form them leaves a lot to be desired...

The weight isn’t what affects the mpg. It’s a sail killing your aerodynamics

these weigh less than a small person. You don’t see mpg go down when another person gets in your truck

Yeah there was a thread on here about how flexing offroad takes away from your carrying capacity on the roof lol I think one guy posted his roof basket / cross bars broke and fell off his truck damaging the side of his taco. Hard lesson learned but that's what's great about our community

On the LT-Light Throttle Tip in tunes, I decreased the 1-3 gear throttle from 0-10% range. That is it.
So on take off and low speeds, the throttle is not as "touchy" in the first 10% of pressure.

My plan is to buy a Magnusson SC Kit for my truck and start working on a tune. I just have not got that far yet.

Roof racks have an on road and off road rating.

Ronny Dahl just did a video on it a couple weeks ago. Worth a watch
