Im assuming regular is used with regular 87 gas and XT will require Premium?

XT is just higher throttle sensitivity... gas won’t matter.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this, but any non-consmetic mods you do to your Taco will change up the Toyota reliability, and it's usually for the worst. If you want your truck to have the same behaviors (e.g. the reliability track record) as a stock Toyota, keep it as a stock Toyota.

Was there any feedback on this? I'd love a unique throttle tip by drive mode too...

That’s bold generalized assumption sir. Have any back up on how this claim applies to KDMAX, where you’ve decided to post this?

He was asking up above and was concerned with the long-term reliability that Toyota is known for:). It is generalized, but a logical presumption that any modifications to your stock Toyota will not make it a stock Toyota. I edited to clarify

I see. I guess I missed the context of this being related to a higher than stock rev limit.

If anyone is concerned about red lining the engine, just don’t red line the engine. In 5 years of owning my truck, I may have redlined 3 times.

Also, the rev limit might be adjusted if you ask Kreg or Dave nicely.

Other than redlining the truck a whole bunch, there is strong evidence that KDMAX would support a healthier than stock truck.

Is there much of a difference in performance and MPG? I'm getting mine down in 2 weeks. Leaning towards the XT but didn't know I can run 87

Most Manual truck guys like the XT better. It has a little more throttle. Power and MPG's are the same.

I just got the KD tune max performance. I love how the truck drives now, I do think the peddle is just a little too touchy. Surprisingly I liked that touchy feeling offroad wheeling. I am having a timing belt or pully squeaking, I do have 50k miles and havent cleaned my engine bay in well... ever. Anyone else get this squeak after the tune? Are there any KD tune guys in Vegas?

    Thank you @SubaruTheTacoma !!

@YotaJoe - I am the KD MAX tuner for Las Vegas. Let me know if you have any questions! I have never heard of any tune directly causing pulley squeaks... more than likely water or dirt ingress of some kind.

Are there any tuners in the Atlanta area? If not, I will be in the Nashville area Tuesday for work. Interested in getting this tune on my 2018.
