You have to identify the ECU, either with vftuner or a code reader. If you are a 2017 auto, you would be 04b04 if you are up to date.

Put about 1000 miles on my 2021 OR since getting the tune. It's been running amazing. Better mileage, way more power at all points, love the 6500 redline for highway merging. Still perfectly well mannered offroad but has a little more beans when it needs it, like steep uphill dune climbs. The tune is truly expertly done, I don't feel like it's too spicy at any point.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews. Expectations met. Makes a big difference every time I drive my truck. Might be my favorite mod overall, now.

Thanks again @TWTaco for getting me setup. In and out and fully tested in less than 15 minutes.

Looks like Denver and Phoenix are your closest tuners for now: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/v...ll=35.638707666709905,-109.27097165856715&z=5

If you ask nicely and help find a couple other Taco owners who are looking for a tune though, you might be able to convince one of the tuners to set up a tuning event.

I'm in Alamogordo. Could make a day trip up there but wouldn't be free until mid July.

In hypertech. I did it for a buddy and input the gear ratios into the hypertech settings and his was 10mph off. Have to input as stock gearing in hypertech settings for some reason and it’s perfect.

I’ve been planning a trip/event down to Taos but if it’s cramping gonzo’s area I’m all for just going and not tuning/my gf would like that more lol

I'm not an official tuner (with OP) so don't have a stake/"claim" so no worries. I figured I'd throw it out there and if it was gonna happen I'd touch base with OP to make sure I'm good to go.

Is that a statement or a question?
I have no tunes for 2.7L Tacomas.

Yea, I knew about the beta from a few years ago. It was given to a few testers by Ovtune.
I have no idea how to get a copy in vft or vfc format.
Good luck with getting a tune. I hope that one day it happens.

@trdquoc hooked me up with the 91 octane manual tune, highest tip in I think. I was out here on vacation and he snuck me in. It was great to meet everyone out here in San Diego and quoc was an EXCELLENT host.

so far so good. I never had any issues before. I can say the more aggressive throttle mapping does make driving easier. While I don’t feel a huge power difference down low, there is absolutely more power over 5500 rpms.
I think with the injen intake and Doug thorley Y pipe I have waiting at home, this will be pretty much what I was looking for.

If you are in Maine, and want to be tuned and can make it to Augusta on the 12th for a nighttime tuning session, or Portland for the 13th for a morning tuning session, then we can make it happen! Find the link here. North Lighting Concepts LLC Tuning Event

I drove it some more today and it feels like I swapped in a 2nd gen motor. I normally drive my 2nd gen because I prefer the power delivery when driving in the streets, but this tune has definitely brought my 3rd gen back up to the same level of enjoyment. Great job on the tune!

I'd agree after the first 3k rpms, but down low, even tuned, I personally still think it's way different (way lower torque). My biggest telltale is that in my 2nd gen I'd STRUGGLE for traction in any mildly damp road in the morning or when it rained, when making a turn from a stop. Now in this truck, I've never even skipped an inside tire on wet pavement.

Tradeoff is more power up top than before. Just a totally different motor.
