Just got my taco home after Adam tuned it with KDMax. Holy hell what a difference that made - all of my major complaints about how the Tacoma drives just melted away.

Adam was quick - got me in and out on my lunch break and he's a super nice guy. If anyone is on the fence about it, you should definitely just do it.

    Thanks, Adam!

They are in beta testing now! Giving it a little more time.

Thanks Bart! Glad you are enjoying it. Pleasure to meet you. Be well!

Huge shout out to Adam for coming down to Colorado Springs last night for a tuning event. Super organized and efficient.

I can't speak for the rest of the guys, but I'm thrilled with the way it changed the whole nature of my 6mt Sport. Smooth power throughout and much better throttle response.

    Now... about that accumulator...

Also in beta testing! Feedback on both 4runners and second gens is great so far but I want everything to be completely ironed out before I start tuning them. Luckily our KDMax guys have a huge network of pro tuners and are constantly logging data, testing, repeating so we can ensure everything is good to go/safe and produces results consistent with the great reviews of KDMax for 3rd gen Tacoma’s.

Any preliminary RWHP gain reports for 2.5 gen taco? (2012-2015)
Will be hitting you up as soon as it’s ready to go!

OMG so worth it! Had Adam tune mine a few weeks ago. Great guy, definitely knows his stuff. SO SO HAPPY i did this. Went on a camping trip just past Westcliffe Colorado and needless to say it ran so much better. Better gas mileage, less gear hunt, quicker throttle response, i just cant say enough! I hesitated and waited, and now wish i hadnt. Thanks Adam!!

No dyno’s yet just focusing on drivability/pedal response before we go into the power realm!

We have some test trucks running some Beta tunes (version 9 already). It is a Private Group Message. We are working on getting shift maps. Those are not available yet. So we are getting the rest dialed in until we get control of the shift maps.

Hey Adam, I'm interested whenever you get back to doing things after your time off.

On your website it says the KDMax tune has options for gear lock in S mode. Can you describe how that works? Or would anyone who has it like to report on the feature? Does this prevent downshifting and make it like an actual manual mode? I'm hoping I won't really need such a feature after the tune, but I'm still intrigued.

Yes, we offer a gearlock option.
You essentially would throw the shifter from auto to S mode, click ECT, and have the ability to manually shift gears when you want to as opposed to the stock S mode settings were it acts as a “gear limiter” (aka it will only shift to the number on the screen, and everything before that with stock mapping). I will say I haven’t had a single person actually ask for gearlock, and honestly the kdmax base tune fixes all the issues with stock as is so it’s not really necessary IMO/with my testing it was cool and all but I ultimately switched back to KDMax LT as it’s the sweet spot. I definitely recommend starting with kdmax base and going from there.

Just want to say thanks everyone for being patient and supportive while I had to take some time off with my nana’s passing etc. I think I got back to mostly everyone but if I didn’t and you have been waiting please let me know and I will take care of it for you.

I added an appointment section to my website that will be updated actively for people to book without having to coordinate their schedules with mine and to eliminate the back and forth. Please refer to the FAQ on my website if you have any questions initially as most questions are answered there (or the main KDMax thread), but if you would like to chat or have more questions I can of course help you and answer them personally via my business line cell or email (email preferred).

I am taking appointments Tuesday and Fridays at my garage from 9-4. I have some blocks on the first week anticipating grad school stuff but it will continue to open up. I am considering adding Wednesdays as well. If these times don’t work for you reach out to me via the cell or email below to coordinate something outside of those times/days. Second gen tacoma’s and 4runners will be ready soon but are still in beta testing for those wondering. If you follow me on instagram or facebook (@ColoradoToyotaTuning) I will post there when they are ready, and will make a post here too.

Here is the direct link to schedule:
    https://www.coloradotoyotatuning.com/appointments

    My business number: (303) 500-3312
    My email: adam@coloradotoyotatuning.com

Last but not least thanks again!
    Cheers

Just got my '21 TRD OR KDMaxed by @MGMSangTaco last weekend. I only have about 1500 miles on the truck, but was already getting frustrated by the way it drove. To say the KDMax tune just solved the problems is an understatement. The truck drives amazing and better than I would have expected. All in all, it only took 5 minutes for the flash and @MGMSangTaco was extremely accommodating in finding a time that worked for me.

Please share if you have any future trips to southern Colorado in mind. I’m in northern New Mexico, and a trip up to Pueblo or similar would be ideal.
