I decided to tackle the gauge mod this sunday. It was a PITA! but well worth it.
I soldered the leds in backwards at first..not paying attention...so after trial and error I figured out my mistake. then I got two of the bulbs too hot and had to reuse the green blinkers on the right hand side. I will be redoing those after I get some more in.

THanks for the help redrum. For the bed bar lights I unscrewd the amber lenses, there is that little black reflector in there in front of the bulbs. I just used my dremell and cut them off.

Last weekend I converted my Hella 500's to HID's and OMG they are pretty much Anti-Aircraft face melting lights!
I used the 55W 5000k kit from DDM tuning.
The wiring harness that came with them are too short to reach from the lights to the ballasts to I had to add in longer pieces of wire. I went ahead and soldered them so they wont come apart.
the power wires no longer come out of that small hole on the side, I drilled a 1" hole right in the middle for the new wires to come out of. (not pictured)

    [IMG]

It took about 3 hours, only b/c I had to figure out how I wanted to extend the wires and where to mount the ballasts.
