Manufactured and made in the USA

i totally understand. I am super patriotic but I just love Toyotas. I like the older American trucks, but nothing newer now a days.

    Cool and I agree
Bit of an old soul here at 37, just bought a Second gen over newer options lol
Amazing vehicles. I'd be in a 1st gen if I found one clean and local, tough in MA

Are you keeping it in the stock configuration minus the ask in the rear for the camper and towing?

Mods are currently being changed .....
I think about getting a new truck at least once a week. But every time I drive mine I realize how smooth, quiet and bulletproof the thing is. When I look at it, I honestly love the appearance of it. I get around 15-16mpg mixed which isn't much worse than some new stuff (GX550, for example).
New stuff is really nice but I've been modding mine continuously which helps keep me interested in it. 16 years later and still love the thing but at the same time don't care if it gets dinged or scratched....something I know I would cry if happened to a brand new car.
In the spring I'll refresh the wheels/tires and by next summer will be up for another suspension refresh.
I'm planning to reassess when I hit 300k which should be around 2030....God willing.
The only thing that keeps poking me is that I'll probably get to retire w/in the next 5 years and I'd rather eat a car payment now then during my retirement years.
Point being, if you can honestly say to yourself that you love how it drives and how it looks....just keep it.

Hell start setting a car payment aside now until 2030 and any extra. When you retire pay cash for the next one and drive till it dies.

I bought my 15 4-5 years ago and it’s become my all time favorite vehicle, and I’ve owned a LOT of vehicles in my years. I have the cash to buy any new truck out there right now with no payments but since I enjoy this truck so much, I’m keeping it. I’m now up to 160k of trouble free miles and it’s still the most solid vehicle I’ve ever owned.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I haven’t had a car payment in 12 years. Eating is nice.

Hell, my 2006 Colorado 4x4 with the 4 cylinder got about that same MPG and that's stock brand new.

Mods are the other thing. Yes I could start over again but it's a process and I get a sense short term I'd be missing a lot of my stuff.

As you said, I still like my truck plus it checks the boxes of all my needs/wants. I also got a new frame and suspension 3 yrs ago.

My wife just said something the other day about once we get some things financially squared away I can buy myself "something nice" and I joked about how much I can spend. She said IDK maybe a new truck. After I got done laughing I told her I'm keeping mine and if she really wants to talk about something on 4 wheels we can maybe think about an old hot rod which both of us would enjoy.

7 yrs here, but my part time job took care of any car payments we had. Mine was $201/60 so not a huge deal.

Last new truck I bought was $8500. 1985 Toyota 4x4.
Wanted to treat myself to a new truck last year and was hoping for the new Tacoma. 50k just didn't make sense, so I found a low mileage second gen. off road. I feel I made the right decision.

My buddy is a Chevy Guy, he finally made it to a high paying position and went to buy his first new Chevy Silverado in 2021,
turned out to be a HUGE dissapointment, constantly in the shop for major problems, he wasn't aware of the nightmare can of worms attempt to satiate the imaginary "Man Caused climate change" cult with mechanical wizidry. It was so bad he got a used diesel from another friend and tried to let the Sillyverado sit and sell it cheep for the past two years, not even one call, then it broke again when he drove it to work one day the extremely complex alternator this time $3k to fix
I am pretty sure it is a similar situation with the Colorado model
    Chevy Colorado ?.....not just "no"
    HELL NO !

In 5 years you could still sell the Taco for more than what you would get for a 5 year old Colorado. It’s good to read you came to your senses lol.

Like that idea, I had a 84 Camaro as a teenager. Thing would break your back without trying haha..

I'd like to say that's my garage, but mine has about 14 bikes and nothing on 4 wheels.
