Someones new OR takeoff suspension is a direct swap onto your truck and cheap to obtain.

Dual zone climate is mystical. Because you are all in one cab and it winds up all one temp anyway, even if the different nozzle temps are blowing right on you.

The big problem you have is the paint. My RAV was just redone, quite nicely, but they did indicate Tacoma's weren't on the list yet. And to do that work right is very labor intense.

I say go out and buy a new Frontier it's almost the same thing as a Tacoma, or go buy an F-150 3.5 eb, it's almost the same thing as a new Tundra. If you don't like those options keep your Tacoma.

Lots to think about here, the 3.9%/48 month financing was something I was looking at. I checked Cargurus and everything DC LB OR within a couple hundred miles seems to be in transit with Sale Pending status. I think at this point I will hold out until later in 2023 and see how the auto industry looks.

i was not in the market for a new vehicle albeit close to that time. Given current economy, interest rates, supply chain issues, and new generation taco coming for 2024 I decided to start looking.

Been searching for about a year and a half for a manual transmission taco. Could not find a MT OR so decided to get a MT Pro since chances were higher in this trim to get a MT. Other factors influencing my decision....
    1. Inflation keeps going up and takes a looong time to come down. Current admin doesn't really care about it.
    2. Interest rates continue to rise to try and fight inflation. Won't help inflation.
    3. 3rd Gen taco is proven.
    4. Wanted a V6.
    5. Wanted MT and will likely be phased out in 4th gen. "Save the manuals!"
May God bless you in your search and decision-making :)

Are you ignoring the fact that a tundra will cost 15-20k more than the tacoma?

Not at all, if I need something for a specific reason, I don't mind spending extra for it. I may try the OR suspension on my 2016, then move to a new OR later this year if that makes enough of a difference and the supply of new vehicles picks up. If not, I can test drive the Tundra and see if it feels like it would be worth the extra cost.

Wait for the 2024 to start shipping. Then you can choose an in stock 2023 or a 2024.

I'd buy another tundra if toyota made one like a mid size tacoma with a 4' wide bed between the wheel wells that gets the tacoma's fuel economy. That said, i'm very happy overall with my 2020 tacoma...it gets a major jump in fuel economy than the tundra that averaged just about 15 mpg vs 22 with the tacoma. Overall performance is better than my tundra also.

Drove by my local dealer today and saw a DC LB OR in MGM. Stopped in and test drove that and a Tundra. Liked the OR a lot better and gave it a new home. No pics yet, will post some tomorrow if time permits.

Upgrade your suspension or buy a 23. If you sell your truck you will still get a lot back on it so you shouldn’t owe too much on a 23. If avoid the tundra until the kinks are worked out.

This was at the same dealer that previously gave me the paint repair estimate, so I just got KBB average trade minus the paint repair estimate. Not great, but I'm in a state where the trade value offsets purchase tax, so that helped.

I would have been happier if Toyota had stepped up and added the Tacoma to the Super White/040 recall list, but I still would have traded since the peeling happened at different times and in different spots. I would be worried about more areas peeling after the initial repairs were done.

Congrats! I was going to say keep the 16, better the devil you know than the one you don't. Depends on cash flow as well. If you're in your latter years, comfortable, and just want trouble free driving, newer is usually better.

Dude don’t listen to any of these clowns.. why would you trade up from a Tacoma to a Tacoma that’s going to feel the same.. I’ve owned three 3rd gen Tacomas and I traded my last off road Tacoma in for a 2024 lunar rock tundra.. it’s so much better I had a 2020 tundra also and the new tundra is better than the 2.5 gen.. people that are telling you not to get the tundra are probably 20 year olds that don’t know any better and can’t afford it.. why tow with a Tacoma that’s gay.. and everyone knows Jeeps are better off road anyways. Get a tundra for truck stuff Jeep for offrosding
