It never was special. It's a better looking grill you can get at a dealership.

If anything, it shows how unspectacular the Pro Tacoma is when it's most "special" feature is a black grill that almost every Tacoma on the road ends up getting anyway. lol

Objections to the chrome logo on the TRD Sport/OR grille are a common theme. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of the cosmetic changes for the 2022 model year will be a blackout treatment for that emblem. Toyota could then sell a lot of retrofits.

I had the pro grill on my 2018. Swapped it out and sold it when I bought the 2020. The new one is fine. I don't like it, I don't hate it. Unlike the chromey 2018 version.

Your grille looks good. It reminds me of a Lexus

I absolutely love the pro grille regardless of how overplayed it is. The old and current black SR/SR5 grille is a close second for me. The current OR grille is nice too. Just pick what you like and don’t mind what others think.

Vinyl wrap shouldn’t mess with the tss sensor. A smoke tint looks good on it.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I love the Off Road grille. Wouldn't dream of changing it.

I'd have tried to find a 2020 grille if I didn't get the pro grille before 2020. But on the same hand, people are selling 2020 grilles for upwards of $250. If they were half that, maybe.

Just wait till a deal comes up. I check places like Facebook marketplace, Offerup, and Craigslist. The knockoff pro grilles go for $130-$175 new so there’s tons of used grilles for a decent price in larger city areas.

Not true. Toyota makes a camera version of the Pro grille for 20+ models. I swapped the 20+ Pro grille onto a 2020 TRD OR that has the tech packages and camera. You simply relocate the camera to the spot on the pro grill... easy.

I hate the look of the pro grille with the adaptive cruise bezel tacked in there.

I like the grille on my 2020 off road. Once I saw it I was fine with it staying. Might derp it black but that’s a long shot if I do anything. Probably just leave it.

Oh, the Tacoma VANITY. LOL. I swapped my 2019 OR grille for a 2020 SR. Also painted the bezel black. I like it but kept the original grille/bezel and may go back to the original if/when I tire of the current look and if I dont break all the tabs.2021-05-01.jpg

I like the grill that came with my 2021 Off Road, more so that it’s all black and no chrome accents. I just wish someone would start selling custom overlays or replacements for the badge in the middle of the grill.

If I had chrome I would switch. The main issue I have is that I don't want to spend the $$$ for the Toyota one and I have had very bad experiences buying replica grills in the past (fitting/filament issues & longevity of the paint). The pro does look a lot more aggressive though, but not too flashy.

Someone does but I forget who. There's a thread somewhere on here about it. You can also cover it with headlight tint. I covered mine with the lightest headlight tint on Amazon and it came out pretty good. Can still see the Toyota logo but much more subdued. Was really easy to do too.

Took 10 mins and heat gun. Not the best pic but what I have for now.
