You probably have a better chance of finding a 3 legged unicorn. E is the load rating. I assume you are referring to a P rated tire. For under $200 a tire is also going to be a hurdle. Your best bet might be Treadwright tires.

    FYI

I do not beleive the 275/75/16 can be purchased in the 16" rim as KPT is suggesting. I have considered a 275, but could not find any for a 16" rim. You need at least a 17" rim for a 275 which will be 275/70/17, mostly available for All Terrain tires . Goodyear makes a mud tire that size but MTs in 275/70/17 are rare. If anybody can find a 275/75/16 please share.

I should have included the ratio KPT.

275/70/16 would be the only size that's an option.

Nitto makes an odd size "32" in their Trail Grappler
    LT285/70R16 with a diameter or 31.89. THey dont even make a 265/75/16
They make a cool looking tire and many people rave about them.....But in my opinion, I think it is always good to get a tire brand and size that is common and will always be in stock like a BFG AT or Duratrac. You never know when you will have a blow out or un repairable damage and need to get it replaced ASAP while you are on the road.

I think you need to go with a Duratrac 265 or 285. Yes 285 is bigger and looks meaner, but you will lose gas mileage and will have rubbing issues that will need to be resolved. See if your local Discount Tire will test mount both and let you decide?

Yes E is the load rating, but I was more referring to the fact that I dont want/need a 10 ply tire.

See the rest of my post to see that I was able to get the tires for about 190 per tire each with a puncture warranty, and possibly as low as 160 per tire without the puncture coverage.

I guess I found the 3 legged unicorn...

Hmmm. What does that look like? Is it taller. And how wide?

You can play around with different sizes in our tire calculator and it shows you the differences.

Note: Not all sizes in this tire calculator actually exist.

    Tire designations mean: Width/Ratio/Wheel Diameter.

Ratio is the ratio of the sidewall height to the tire width.

275 is millimeters. divide by 25.4 to convert to inches.

So a 275 wide tire is actually about 11" wide (275/25.4=11"). 265 is about 10.5" wide

To compute height. Use the ratio in the designation... in this case 0.7 is the ratio of sidewall height to width. So for a 275/70 tire. 11"x0.7= 7.7" sidewall.

    Therefore a 275/70r16 is...
    ... 11"(width)x0.7(sidewall ratio)x2(2 sidewalls)+16 (wheel size)
    275/25.4x0.7x2+16 = 31.16" Tall.

No more need for tire size calculator

This is the best option if you want the largest choice of tire sizes. 17's or 18's.....

I agree with KPT and OZ-T.

The best you can do beyond 275 and 265 is a 285/75r16 which is 32.8" tall....you're going to have to trim a lot and lose some mud-flaps if you havent already.

Well it might just be that picture. I had my truck in the garage where it's leveled flat and the tires look to be good size. I might as well stay with 265s

I've been thinking. Do duratracs come in 265/80/16 or 265/85/16? I just need a bigger diameter. The width is perfect. Suggestions?
