After being on this forum for a while, it almost seems like Taco’s are a POS considering all of the issues I’ve read about.

I’ve been a Toyota guy since 1980 and IMO they build great vehicles.

I’m not crazy about the buying experience or the service departments I’ve used so far, but Toyota’s are dependable AF.

I’m here to report that after 1600 miles i have no problems with my new Taco. My Solara had 170K and ran great.

That is all and stay cool.

Taco's are NOT a POS. Remember that less than one percent of ALL Tacoma owners participate here. A lot of what is here is bullshit, and there is also a lot of good stuff from knowlegable owners.

    Enjoy,

I too have no issues with my 2019. Do I wish it had a higher torque engine? Yes but it does everything I need it to so I'm okay with it. If you try hard enough you can find fault with every vehicle on the road and by nature people like to bitch about things.

I drove a 2006 for 10 years and 153K, got 12K on trade. Love my 2016, and just got a 2012 Sport for my stepson.

    Awesome trucks.

There is a fortunately relatively small but vocal subset of members whose mission seems to be finding fault with their Tacoma.

They seem to have been born with the Grumpy gene.

I am VERY happy with my 2019 SR5.

There has been a Toyota, sometimes 2 or more, in my driveway for over 35 years. So you can safely say that I am happy with Toyota in general.

I hear ya. I won't be bringing my Taco back to a Toyota service department, unless it's a warranty issue. The "free" maintenance is just more scratches and dents waiting to happen.

Finally positivity. 2018 here no issues. Maybe a little psychotic tranny that doesn’t know when to shift when in cruise control but nothing too bad. TSB fixes it.

Keep in mind OP, some people really make a mountain out of a mole hill. “My paint chipped .001MM in the under carriage this is ridiculous!!!!!”

“My engine is making a noise! Why doesn’t it sound like a Prius!!”

Just take it to dealer. Sheez and better not have that attitude at the dealer. Or nobody will collaborate with you.
