Bought my 2020 SR 2.7L a few months ago. No decals. Didn’t even have any Tacoma emblems.

Now I have an Off Road

The skewp is worth more than that! You're selling yourself short!

I bought a skewp and it came with a free Tacoma. No way I would let either go now though. Couldn't happier with the combo.

No pics, but here's what I did last night and this morning for anyone considering it.

Took the bed decals off my Mag. Grey 2019 OR DCSBAT. The color/style looks good with them, I just like it better without.

I keep thinking it should have gone faster/easier, so anyone else who's done it, go ahead and correct my misteps.

    Washed the areas involved.

Heat gun set between 550w and 750w on low and high speed, depending on the detail I was working on and if my fingers were in the way.

Used my fingers and different sized plastic scrapers/spackling knives (the kind you get in packs for $4 at Home Depot).

Had to pick, pull, scratch the decals off in pieces. Some big, some small. Hoped they'd come off in a sheet, but nope. Sometimes need the heat gun to get them off my hands.

Took something like 30/45 minutes for both sides.

Then spent 90 minutes, maybe 2 hours, getting the adhesive off with Goo Gone. Applied with a soaked lint free cloth, using the plastic scrapers and blue shop towels to work off the adhesive.

Washed the area. Then in the morning, spotted missed adhesive, and removed by repeatedly dousing with WD40 and "scrubbing" with a microfibre cloth and blue shop towels. About 15/20 minutes.

At angles in sunlight could still see outlines. Was pretty sure just missing wax, and waxing the areas fixed it.

There's one silver-dollar sized spot I can still see from an angle when perfectly cleaned and in sunlight. Have to see what that's about.

Otherwise, it's as if the truck never had them. It's about 2 months old and I don't see any paint discoloration other than that one minor spot.

I let mine soak in goo gone for 10-15min before wiping with a microfiber cloth. Sometimes I coat again with goo gone and let it soak a few times. Really helps. Also you can clay bar now then wax.

Since ours was bought a day before, I waited till the sun warmed up the metal a bit and then just picked a corner up with my fingernail and pulled them right off. I pulled slowly and there was no adhesive left behind. I had a similar experience pulling the decals off my quad (did those in the dealership parking lot when I picked it up). I understand that after they have been on a while they would be harder to remove.

Bottom line, if you are going to remove them, sooner is better than later.

    Happy Trails!

Take it all off. I just removed after 2 years, love the clean look. They were a PITA to get off. From some angles you can see the paint fade. Do it sooner than later. 0104201336a_HDR.jpg 0104201333a_HDR.jpg
