A friend of mine that is a machinist is using a water jet today to trim 4" off mine. I drew the outline in sharpy marker. I told him not to fuck them up, they cost $75 each at the dealer! I almost tore my drivers side front off last year backing up over a snow pile. My friend the machinist is good, I haven't seen him screw anything up yet that I've asked him to do.

I took 5 inches off my fronts last night. I taped a piece of cardboard behind the flap and traced the curved shape. I used that pattern to draw up my line and used some snips to complete the job. I might pick up some sandpaper and smooth it off a bit. Big improvements in looks too in my opinion.

I like the looks of your truck with those duratracs and those 5100's. I just got the rear TSB and I'm contemplating the 5100's to level it out.

I leave them on, on all my cars (and trucks).
I've been behind (a good distance behind) too many people who don't have them. I know what it's like to get a stone chip or cracked windshield. And thats not only from people directly in front of me but in ajoining lanes.:(
Sure, they don't stop all the crap from flying up but they sure help.

I am a member of TW and www.bigrubbers4x4.org Windber, Pa. Here in Windber, Pa we have lots of events throughout the year and they are all for charity. We are a state recognized Non-Profit 4x4 Group. We raised money to buy local Volunteer Fire Dept 2-5000 watt genorators, hold events like our Fall Crawl to buy 120 Turkeys for the food pantry, Toys for Tots with the local Marines (Who bring Hummers!) for toys for the kids and many other events to help many others. Even helped our local police raise toys for them to give to families in need at Christmas. The local gov asked our groups to drive in a parade and we passed out candy from our vehicles. It was great! Anyway, if anyone out here is interested in coming out for our 2010 Toys for Tots event, please post up and contact myself or someone on our website. Thank you, Rich Beauregard (814) 535-1899

I would say it depends on a couple of things, where you live, I live in Northeast Ohio, that means snow, ice and mud, I'll leave mine on to protect my paint and Nfab Steps. On the other hand, if you just don't like the look - take em off.

If you are worried about legal issues and in your state it is a law (like mine), think about it. They just are told you have to have mud flaps on your truck. Not how long they have to be :)

first time i went off-road i broke both. before that i noticed they weren't going to last anyways. heavy snow and slush were killing them. i thought about soft rubber ones but they make me think of white trashy "back off" cartoon crap.

3M clear bra the whole bottom part of your doors up to the slight curve half way up the door. I did this and it has protected the shit out of my paint. 3M clear bra is the best mod i have ever done to a vehicle hands down.

I would love to see a close up shot of the body panels behind your front and rear wheels. Could only imagine their chipped up pretty good, unless of course that black stuff is rhino liner or something similar.

Hate to ruin your deal, but OP, you could sell the set of flaps on E-bay for 150-200 bucks. That's what I did with mine...:D what else do you need for your truck you could buy with $150 bucks?

I took mine off in an attempt to take as much paint off of the lower half of my truck as possible... up to this point, I am definitely succeeding :(

Where can I find a rocker panel kit? I can only find fender flares and bumpers.

I took mine off after doing lift and wheels/tires. Rears are still on. I like the way it looks. Might look into 3M Clear. I'll sell mine if anyone is interested.

plenty of people install the clear bra as a profession. Ask you local tint shop or google clear bra installers in your area. Clear bra comes in sheets, so they can cut whatever shapes they need too. Installing clear bra can be more difficult than installing tint because of all the curves and bends you may want to place it on.

seriously, it works AMAZING! and no one can see it there unless they get really close.
