    Cool story bro.

I drove a lowered G35 with the softest paint on the planet. I kept my distance and never had a problem. I drove many other sports cars before that, again no problem. Don't know what to tell you, other than perhaps you should be checking your own distance.

Also, you should be having a minimum spread of 100ft (15' average length of car * 7 car lengths is 105ft). At speeds below 60mph (which if the conditions you're saying you shouldn't even be exceeding 50mph at the absolute highest).... you'll never get hit by a rock, and if you do the energy will be so low it might as well have been a fly.

I'm sure you could sell them if you decide to take them off. Mine both ripped last year, and new ones were over 100 bucks each at the dealer. Needless to say that my truck doesn't have them any longer.

Really? Do you mean in traffic in Redmond or are you talking off road bizzle round about these parts? Just asking because I recently took the fronts offa mine and think the truck looks much better that way, but started to think about maybe putting them back on for the sand/gravel that happens with 1/4" of snow around here.

I drive a lot of gravel roads...fire roads, park along the river, whatever. My tires pickup gravel and fling it up and without flaps, the paint gets killed.
Plus we're heading into the mud season and I prefer to keep the mud off the paint when I can.
I think flaps are smart.....don't care about looks.

I took mine off and then put em right back on. with em off it was flinging the dirt, grass, sand, and road grime all over the side of my truck and on the inside of the rear bumper. I just couldn't keep the damn thing clean. I just take mine of when i go wheelin' now.

I just sold my flaps and, coincidentally, I drove in my first rain just today. Now I wish I didn't sell them because the road spray is pretty bad with my tires that protrude out a bit. I think the trucks looks better w/o but I think my truck will get little chips in the paint over time.

[IMG] One of mine broke off so I pulled them all. I don't drive off road anyway so there's no no stone chips or mud.
I was going to sell the other 3 but they all had stress cracks. I love it. My Pre runner looks 3" higher!

No vote. No option for trimming. I trimmed my back ones just under the tailpipe height which is 13" off the ground in my case, just below center cap level on rim. Trimmed the front ones to match. Bottom of front and rears are 13" off the ground. Took approx 3" off the front and probably 6" off the fronts. Not full protection, not quite as dorky looking as before & not gonna break them in hwy wind or offroad.

I left mine on to protect from rocks in the road and what not. I'm going to trim them this weekend and paint them.
