I have the opportunity now to either keep my tacoma now, or give my tacoma to family and take there truck to trade in to get a 2015 tundra with a few upgrades done already like pro grill ect. The truck is in amazing shape and has every record and 1 owner. Who has experience with the tundras? The amount of space in the crew max is unreal compared to the tacoma.

    Here is my truck -

Back in 2010 I traded my 96 Tacoma for a new long bed 5.7L 4x4 double cab Tundra. In 2013 I went back to a Tacoma. The Tundra was awesome. Lots of power and tons of room, but it was a little to big for my needs. The only negative thing I can say about the Tundra was oil changes were a PITA!

I traded in my 14 Tacoma in October for a 20 Tundra. I never looked back at the Tacoma. My Taco was almost nearly all stock and not nicely upgraded like yours. I love my Tundra. The 5.7 is a beast and there's tons of room in the cab especially with the Crewmax. The fuel mileage is about 4 mpg less than the tacoma. The downfalls is the tundra is more cumbersome to drive around town and you definitely feel the difference in size. The Tacoma actually was easier to drive around just because of it's size.

Many people will say to keep your Tacoma unless you NEED the full size in the tundra for hauling towing children blah blah. I say get the Tundra if you WANT the tundra. You won't be dissapointed and there are just as many upgrade possibilities to make it your own as there are Tacomas.

Only major issue that Tundras see are the Cam Tower Leaks. Head over to Tundras.com and check it out. May be worth looking into your potential Tundra to see if it has been remedied yet. Other than that, completely solid truck!

    My .02....or rather .04 cents.

My brother loves Tundras, I love my Tacoma. The Tundra is large and spacious and a real nice ride, I thought about getting one myself. But I don't like big trucks, and the Tundra is a big truck. Can't go wrong with a Tundra, but I love my Tacoma.

Depends on what you need/want. l wouldn't buy it just for something new ( I've done that a few times:rolleyes:). But if you really want it, I'd say go for it.

Get f 150 eco boost if you're going full size. Better mpgs and power. Not as reliable though...

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Yeah buy an F-150 they say, I fell for that once and it was parked at the dealer more than my house and when the warranty ran out it cost me a little over $2 a mile to try and remedy all the issues. Sold it with 48k miles on it after having the oil pan gasket changed and the rear main seal and it still leaked oil in my driveway. F all things ford! Never again!!

If you occasionally go off pavement depending where you are at you may find the Tundra a little large and less nimble. I take my Tacoma to places my brother won't go in his Tundra. It could be the driver as much as the truck, but there have been a few "secondary" roads that I would not have been comfortable traversing in the larger Tundra. I am in New England so tight trails may not be an issue where you are at or off road may not be a consideration.

entertained the idea myself but drive around the suburbs/city too much. Would also miss the 6' bed on the tacoma, since going with a tundra with a 6' you lose the crewmax

I bought the Tundra to tow, otherwise I'd go with the Tacoma.

Tundras are like Tacomas just bigger and more comfortable.

I had a bad experience with a subaru once. It doesnt mean all subarus are shit, but like I did say fords are less reliable. I know someone with a 3.5l ecoboost and loves it, solid truck, and its above 100k miles.

Is the truck they’re giving you of equal value as your Tacoma if your were trading it in.

Tacoma is staying in the family. My brother wants it really bad. I'd be trading in his 04 Ted offroad

I guess what I was asking, if your trucks let’s say worth 15k and his is worth 12k are you ok eating the 3k difference. I looked at the tundras that crew max is big.

Ya I'm fine with paying the difference of what the trade in is worth. I cant get over how much more room there is in the crew max!
