    Get a smaller AR?

Even with my 7.5" upper, there still aint enough steel for a magnet to hold to.

There's been a lot of discussion across several forums over the years and I've been hesitant to talk about it on a public for obvious reasons. It worked very well and was quite the party trick whenever I was showing my truck to people and popped open the rifle lock from either the key fob or my phone. This last part was especially cool when I told them that that worked from anywhere to include across the country. I jokingly told people that if I was out of town and my wife found herself trapped in the garage due to the zombie-pocalypse I could use my phone to unlock the doors and pop open the rifle rack. I really liked that setup and it was both secure and out-of-sight with the way the roof curves down. You couldn't see it from the outside and even people who rode in the truck had no idea it was right over their head until we got the their destination and I pointed it out. Almost everyone was surprised it was there the whole time. Sometimes hiding in plain sight is the best method as nobody really looks up when in a vehicle.

Now that I no longer have my Tacoma it's for sale here in case anyone is interested: Click me.

Santa Cruz universal with a butt stock adapter. Love'em. I have my ready AR and Ready shotgun on a hidden push button with a delay re lock. Very easy to build automotive or home locking solutions with these. They are not full proof, but they would delay someone just long enough for me to show up and send them my love.....

Places that have open carry laws usually have stipulations, such as TX where it must be in a proper holster on the hip or shoulder. This type of display of a pistol is asking for legal issues.

I like this + it looks to be quality made being Amish

Not bashing OP , but this will more than likely become a projectile if a crash was to occur.

That Amish saddle is pretty cool.
Maybe a Safepacker (from Wilderness) on a center console molle rack might be better? I agree that the magnet would (IMHO) not hold in a serious accident. Of course I could be wrong. I would be more prone to move to a jacket pocket in the Winter and stay with OWB in the Summer....if I were one of those gun people.
