I finally got around to mounting my Kel-Tec P3AT in my center console. It is as solid as a rock in there. No rattling at all. Plus it pulls out quick too. I just used a picture hanger to hold the clip I have put onto the pistol (you can buy them from Kel-Tec) and used a screw just a little smaller than the barrel and mounted that on the bottom for the barrel to fit over. It's a very smooth screw as to not scratch or damage the barrel at all. This just makes an easy place to store my concealed weapon when it's not on me. Hope you guys enjoy.

    Thanks for sharing.

I didn't think that would be something you would want to advertise. JMO, but it does look good there.

I carry it when I'm out of the truck. The mount is for keeping it out of sight while I drive. It's literly a pain in the ass to carry while driving. Insted of keeping it on the passanger seat it has it's own place to be now.

Is the screw coated? I would be a little worried about damage to the crown of the barrel. But it's a good idea and nice location.

I was gonna do that too but then I saw this episode of "pimp my ride" and I'm having a hard time deciding between the acrylic waterfall or the bubble blower. Leaning towards the bubbles...

TV show where they do ridiculous things to the center console. Your mod is fine, wasn't making fun of you, just a silly joke.

Nice and simple, just be aware of the exposed trigger, especially on a DOA like the P3AT. I put a Crimson Trace set up on mine, really tightened up my groups as the factory sights are very minimal. Great little CCW.

My only caution is in case of an accident, that could become a flying projectile not to mention possibly lying somewhere in the road or worse yet, lost.

I only say that because this is always a concern for things not bolted down in the vehicle. My ex-wife got in a car accident and her cell phone was found 100 feet from the car and there were things from the inside everywhere, the car was totalled and she had to be removed with the jaws of life. I only say this because we should always plan for the worst case scenario.

Maybe there's a way for you to mounting a locking holster on the inside, like the one from blackhawk. This could solve both concerns, safety of firearm and safety of self.

I may be assumtive and it may already be secure, I just wanted to share my thoughts...

Some vary valid points. I don’t keep a round in the chamber though. Sure their is always a possibility of something happening but realistically a round would need to be some how chambered then the trigger pulled. I am obscenely anal about proper gun safety but I think this set up is pretty good. If I have that bad of luck I will probibly be dead anyways. Plus it has to be safer than just laying in the center console.
