you probably need a new extractor, call keltec and tell them what you're gun's doing, they'll fix you up

and any gun that doesn't run 100% IS NOT ok for CCW

It's not new, it's not Mexico
Because they get a lot of practice fixing problems under warranty. Who's got time to pack up and ship a pistol back to FL for repair every few months?
My Beretta and Glock have NEVER had any type of failure, even when new.
The OP should spend the money and buy a good gun.

For my pocket I use the Kahr PM9.

It is more $ than the Keltec but a much better designed platform.

keltec are well known to be hit or miss when it comes to reliability.

i've never had to ship a pistol back to them they sent me my part in the mail and i had it in one day from florida to ohio

you might not have ever had any problems with your beretta/glock but you also paid more than twice what a keltec costs, dont get me wrong, i have several glocks and love them but for the money these guns are hard to beat and glock doesn't make a single stack 9mm, Ruger polymer guns suck and have recalls all the time so the LC9 is out in my book, doesn't leave you with a whole lot of options, especially not for under $250

I've heard good things about the updated s&w BG380. I can get one for $340 OTD which is very tempting. My xd40sc is just too damn bulky for conceal carry.

To my understanding the biggest reliability problem with the Kel-tec PF-9 is the firing pin. It is very, very light with a relatively heavy spring as a safety feature (ie. won't fire if dropped) and can be damaged by dry-firing the weapon. Most of the firing pin problems they fix under warranty are caused by the operator. If you operate the gun within its design limits (DO NOT DRY FIRE) it should prove to be quite reliable.

The firearm you choose to defend your loved ones, your hard earned property and your own life is a highly personal one, not to be taken lightly. In my opinion this is not an area to be a penny pincher. I will never buy another Kel-Tec again, ever. Nor will I buy a Raven, Jennings, Accu-Tek, Cobra, Bersa, Hi-Point, or Phoenix Arms.
Spend the money, buy a good gun! Buy a quality holster while you're at it. You'll be glad you did.

    thank you

say what ya want about keltecs i've owned 2 and like them, personally i would never own a ruger pistol (unless it's a wheel gun) if you're gonna spend that much you might as well just step up and buy a smaller/better G26/27

I hope you are wrong. I am a big Glock fan but just ordered the new Ruger LC9 as a pocket gun when the Glock 23 is too big. The 26/27 is significantly bigger and heavier than the LC9.

for the guys thinking the XD/SR9c's are smaller, i didn't dig on the XD's dimensions but i know for a fact they're bigger than the glock 26/7 also

    coppied from another site

    SR9c
    weight 23.2oz
    height 4.51
    length 6.8
    max width 1.26
    capacity 10+1

    Specification Glock G26
    Overall Length: 6.29"
    Overall Height: 4.17"
    Width: 1.18"
    Wgt w/o mag: 19.75 ounces
    Mag Capacity: 10+1

    sorry lol

edit i dont know if the glocks weight is with or without the mag
double edit this is the SR9c comparison the LC9 is about the same size as the keltec pf9
