    Need to put in a new engine so I guess the timing works out. Couple of questions though;
    What kinda price
    If I went with the 234-A and say wanted to supercharge it three years down the road would I need to take that back out for the stock or SC version?

    Group buy price last time was approx $1500 shipped USD for all four camshafts, springs, washers, and retainers.

    I imagine that's a question you should ask Kelford about. Don't think there'd be an issue running the 234-A if you supercharged down the road but it probably wouldn't be optimized for the supercharger. That's my guess.

    No other issues, I have proven that the retard gears work fine as well. Been 3.5 years that I've had the cams in, and no problems.

    I can certainly give you some advice on install. I made my own spring compressor!

    FYI time to install was probably 4 hours to take top end apart, 45 mins per spring replacement (got to be super careful) 3 hours to put everything back together, and 30 mins or so to confirm timing. I did not take the timing cover off. So 26 hours.

    That actually doesn't sound as bad as I was thinking time wise. :thumbsup:

    Oh one more thing, if you want to use Kelford's recommended clearances, we check those and then wait for the new lifters to come in - takes a couple weeks o_O but guys here have used stock clearances and it's been totally fine (Kelford's are a bigger gap, so you get extra lift if you use stock clearances!)

    well you keep saying you want to visit california.. might be time to swing by haha. That does not seem too bad just nerve racking. I need to learn how to check and set timing. I have a feeling mine could be slightly off from the factory. This would be also a perfect time to send the blower off to get ported.

    I totally would. Food, drink and lodging too.

    I'm still dreaming of building an engine sometime but need more funds so might be waiting for that to do cams.

    Don't know how likely that scenario is so might be fuck it and just fire them in.

    You'll still have them when you decide to build an engine!

    I noticed some timing drift on my truck actually. The chain probably wears over time.

    ya makes sense. When I did my cam gears I could never get the TDC centered but the top ones were lined up and things have been fine. But had me thinking it could be stretched or off.

    I think "chain stretch" is just "chain wear". The metal itself should not "stretch" over any period of time.

    ah yah who knows me and Kel were chatting on decide to just run with it as the top parts lined up. I have seen recent comments that sometimes it takes a bunch of turns to get all 3 to line up but i have not seen any issues.

    A tad messy, but works very well. Once the valve covers are pulled, and fuel pump relay and/efi fuse pulled, then you can simple bump the engine with the starter. Way easier than turning the crank by hand the whole time. Then turn the crank by hand for the final refined alignment.
