lol nah not really. most of the time i rock windows down, so it really doesn't bother me. with the windows up, it can get kinda irritating on the freeway, so i just turn the music up lol

thanks! honestly though i wouldn't recommend this head unit. for the price it's good, but it's kinda pissing me off lol...it's pretty slow when used with an ipod....with my old iphone 3GS it was pretty irritating, but it seems to be faster with the 4. and the EQ settings are kinda rediculous, it's one of those 3 band EQ's but you can kinda adjust each frequency, but not idependently. and there's only two RCA outs, sub and one speaker. so yah...but for the price though it's worth it, and i do like the buttons lol. and the radio is pretty fast as well.

oh yah it should be noted as well that there is a hella annoying hiss that comes from this deck...

Sooo.. I finally came across the famous Tacoma w/ RX8 rims. Always see this truck in UHM parking structure or the sidestreets near UHM. Nice truck!

oh yah and the guys from TACOSupremacy had a mini mod meet at my hale sunday... got my URD Short Shifter in...pics and mini writeup will come once i upload the pics to my comp...

 

bought the URD short shifter kit awhile back...the guys from TACOSupremacy helped to put it in on last sunday...here are a few pics and installation tips. not a full on writeup, but some good tips to know. for full installation instructions, go to gadgetonline.com/shifter.pdf
it's for the 6 speeds but it is generally the same as our 5 speed ss kit install

here are a few differences:

if you notice, the hole to access the transmission is quite small compared to the 6 speeds. this might just be a regular cab thing though.




...and the shifter assembly is quite large.



to get it off, you need to take of the 6 bolts holding it down. you will only be able to reach two of them from inside the cab, unless you have hands the size of an infant. and if your fat like me, and your truck is dropped, you will not be able to fit underneath without jacking the truck up, so plan accordingly.



ok. so moving on, you need to take off this stupid ball thing. don't use a spoon, it doesn't work. so, don't do what im showing you in this next picture.



what your going to want to do is place it in a vice, makes things much easier.



use a bottle opener, works like a charm.



this is just like the instructions. put locktite on the little bolt and use an allen wrench to put it on the shifter. don't forget to put the little plastic ball thing that you took off earlier.



test fit the spacer, put the RTV silicone on it, put bolts back on. allen wrench is needed for the new bolts supplied in the kit.

huge difference...can actually pound off shifts now. the 1st to 2nd BS is gone, and the throws are WAY shorter. the only thing though is the shifter sits a bit higher due to the spacer plate, but its fine by me.

 

Nah with the short shifter the 5 speed is legit. Shifts can be done very fast and very clean, and now faster than what the left pedal can do.

Well on another note, traded rear windows with my friend reid's XR, with 5% Ceramic tint on top of the stock privacy glass.
