LOL!! I didnt want people thinking that regearing will compromise the integrity of the drive train. I have never had a bad issue when I re geared.

....like that Toyota simply made the rear ends too small on these trucks! And adding weight does help either - which is why I have a Rock Jock rear axle ready to go into my truck!

I agree with the rear being too small.

New IFS Skid is pictured here on my truck. It cuts back further before angling down to tuck in and up as much as possible to give the most clearance possible.

but you have about 10 more inches to travel forward before you hit, you might be able to 'make' more clearance by then! :)

And that is why there is many suppliers to choose from with plenty of different design philosophies ... and to fit your 'fancy!' :)

Not really - there is actually more support since there is less "dead space."

Maybe you got one of the early ones that were thinner. Obviously they are meant for protection, and we haven't heard of any damage to the trucks with our skids, so they've done their job as far as we know!

Again, our philosophy isn't to make heavy, low hanging skids (or bumpers), so don't order ours if that is what you want. Now if you want good protection without unnecessary weight, and the most ground clearance possible, then go with ours.

I have heard the same thing from numerous sources. The reliability and quality are just not there. Why buy something if you have to spend extra to re-fab the brackets or mounting points. I am already pissed at Toyota for doing the same thing. Skimp on the quality to line the pockets of the producer. I would go with the All-Pro. Just have to have the means to get one or a good discount.

I would also vote for armortech. I say no-go on All-Pro.

seems easier to just tap your steel bumper on a tree than trying to judge distance lol
