That's funny you should mention the dog part. I've been struggling with what to do about that exact thing. I know he could sleep in a kennel below the RTT but what fun is that? I've also seriously considered a softopper bed setup. I could see it being a great option for the type and amount of camping I'd be doing. But, I definitely see where you're coming from on the ground tent. I appreciate your devilish advocacy.

That's my issue as well. Girl is coming into town later Sunday. I'm gonna see if the puppy can go stay with his grandparents so I can go wheeling. Last time to Bridgeport he didn't seem that stoked about being thrown all over the cab of the truck.

I've thought about this same thing. I don't have a dog now but will as soon as I buy a house and a yard. I plan to convert my trailer into an offroad RTT trailer and kind of just figured that the dog could stay in the annex part. That works fine for offroad parks and places where I can set the trailer up and leave it. But on overland type trips where you move everyday that would require setting up and tearing down the annex every night/morning. And that just doesn't sound fun at all.

But I'll never be overland famous on instagram with a ground tent.

Honestly I'm leaning more toward a New Wave Teardrop. Hard to beat for the price.

Those look pretty damn great. What's the price range?

Base price is $2,850-$3,950 depending on size and whether or not it has the galley. Then add what options you want. There's a list of prices on their website. The one I just built out of curiosity was Like $5800. That's the biggest one (5x8 with rear galley) with two windows, AC, the offroad package (fenders, sliders, beefier frame, spring over axle, brakes, etc), tongue tool box, and a few other small things. Still have to buy wheels/tires and I'd add my own electrical system (battery, inverter, etc). Would also probably opt for a MaxCoupler instead of 2" ball hitch. So probably $7500 all in for the one I'd buy and then what I'd add to it afterward. with tires and wheels.

Hells yeah. That's the best looking inferno I've seen. Congrats!

More love for this Dakar pack and the suspension as a whole. I hauled all these boxes 2+hours away this morning and I couldn’t tell any of it was back there. The truck rides so smooth with weight in the back.

I'm debating whether to get the heavy duty or medium duty Dakars... I don't carry weight often, but when I do, it's heavy. How's the ride unloaded?

Roughhhhhhh. If I’m going to be unloaded for a while, I keep some quickcrete 50lbs sandbags in the bed. Then, all is well.

Haha fair enough. I guess I'll spring for the medium. I don't have a camper shell or any constant load so makes sense I guess.... Thanks man.

Honestly, the SCS F5s with the KO2s are arguably the best tire/wheel combo IMO.
    Great lookin taco! :mudding:

Fantastic truck, think you are the first TW member I've actually come across outside of meetups. :)
