Getting ready to finish the 4x4 swap everyone!! I had a friend who has a 04 double cab give me a set of 6 lug spindles so I’m having my fab guy weld total chaos spindle gussets on them and I’m going to paint them so they will be fresh and ready for new bearings and hubs. My plan is to have the new bearings and hubs pressed in on Monday and finish my swap by the weekend. I’ll keep you guys posted and I’ll add pictures as I go.

Hell yeah man, I’m trying to get a trip together with a few taco guys. Nothing too far or crazy. Just a relaxing time, some trails, some camping

I'm down for that, I'm trying to limit my 'crazy' trails these days...spend too much time and money fixing stuff afterwards lol. Just be nice to get out and see some dirt and 4wd action.

Yeah I hear you bud. Well if I can get my buddy to go he will be down for the hard stuff or easy stuff so we can do as we wish. I'm thinking maybe Joshua tree or something that distance away.

Next step checked off the list

New koyo bearings and seals. Freshly rebuilt Asian lockout. Total chaos gussets. Now I just need to clean off some surface rust, chase the wheel studs/lockout studs, and some paint touch up and we’re ready to go! The LBJs will also be replaced when I do the swap with 555s. She’ll be fresh and ready for Jeanette and I to do some exploring! Can’t wait..

We did it! 4wd swap comeplete! I’ll have some pictures in the next few days. Everything went surpisingly well. Had a few hicups but nothing that we couldn’t over come.

I can’t wait to go test it out :mudding:

For sure dude I’m down. I’m going to test everything and making sure nothing is leaking and everything is perfect then we’re gonna hit some dirt! Ah man this is so cool. I woke up this morning and locked the hubs and ran the transfer case through everything. It was so smooth. No vibrations, noises, grinding, anything. I was really happy. I need to touch up the lock out dials cause i kept all the swap stuff in a box and it got scratched up. But other than that I think she’s ready.

Don't worry too much about those dials being scratched because they'll probably get all banged up on the trail haha. I get what you mean though, sounds like it all came together perfectly which is awesome. Been a long road!
I'm headed up to Pismo this weekend with my wife to camp and wheel a bit, gotta freelance gig next weekend...but I should be free the day before Easter (Saturday) if you want to do anything then. Last weekend of the month the wife and I are headed up to Kings Canyon for a few days

I'm trying to think of a decent trip to take jeanette on. The last trip we went on I kind scared her in SD but it was mostly my fault. I had no business being out there alone...Lesson learned... Any ideas? we want to set something up

Thanks dude! I appreciate it but won't be able to make it without giving work a couple weeks notice, and we're headed up that way in a couple weeks for my birthday. Have fun though!

He finally bought one haha. The three of us should hit a trail soon. I've had a crazy busy month but hopefully we can plan something soon
