I have a Kenwood DDX514 that needs an update, ive never done it before. I have googled the instructions and ive called my local audio shop

    First the instructions
It tells me to download the update to my computer once finished to extract all files. Once thats done put them on a disk then put disk into unit ( while in standby mode) it says reading for about a min then disk error. Ive tried 2 disk same result

Now for my local audio shop
They told me to read the directions 5 TIMES so in case I misread them then said they couldnt do anything for me since all there computers are updated and dont use disk anymore just USB sticks. But the directions are a 1 page pdf file and very simple.

I dont know where im going wrong anybody help me?

I have updated my DNX9980HD recently, but it had me use a USB or the SD card.

If you haven't checked out the Kenwood forums, I would read about your unit and issues people may have had doing the same thing you are attempting.
