For those who have this head unit do you find the screen too bright at night abd can the brightness be controlled by the dash sensor. Also are any of your tacos lifted with bigger tires have you noticed any vibration problems or is it pretty solid. Please post nighttime pictures if possible.

    Thanks!

There is a thread about this on a Tundra board
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/kenwood-head-unit-not-dimming-at-night-solved.87326/

    The TL;DR:

    A. It's the headlights not the dash sensor (minor detail)
    B. They are both set by default to the same brightness (this is the real problem)

    To Fix:
    - Set dimmer control to SYNC
    - Turn on the lights
    - Press the volume control button (it doubles as a context-sensitive Menu button)
    - A strip of icons will appears, the far left is the brightness control
    - Set your desired screen brightness, ie. how Dim you want the display to be
    - Press back

Most head units default to the headlights for their dimmer control, but you can usually find the setting to change it to TIME based dimming. This is what I do with mine. Set the times for your area (typically needs adjusted near the beginning and end of winter)

Cant do that here in Boston where our day length swings almost 6 hours (9:35 shortest to 15:17 longest).
