Shop got these in last week. HAD to hook it up. It’s amazing!!

    The quick specs:
    AMAZING 10.1” HD screen
Garmin Nav w 3 year updates
    Wireless Carplay/Android Auto
    Only one USB :(
    Hi-res audio BT/HD radio
    5v pre-out
idatalink maestro RR (since I had one in a previous vehicle) to retain all OEM functionality

it’s been in my ride a few days now and final verdict: it’s not for everyone, but it is for me!

Yeah, the floating style isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I wanted to show everyone there are other options out there!

If I'm not mistaken you can plug a USB hub into that USB slot? Is this the deck that has the optical out? Also can control 12v sources with an add on? I think it looks great!

I haven’t tried actually, but it sounds like I need to. My one usb is hooked up to the OEM slot on the lower dash.

Sadly no optical out... we keep asking for it. Hopefully one day!

Yes to 12v sources. It requires the Maestro RR2. I had the original RR in my last car so I reused in this one, but I’ve seen it hooked up to a light bar, and even a winch. Not sure how exactly but it does let you.

It's a real shame it doesn't have optical out! If If I go through the trouble of replacing the stock Hu it's gotta be optical but sadly those options are very few? You would think in this digital age....

Yeah, it’s def steep. If it’s something you’re considering, look at the DMX1057XR. Same unit, no Garmin nav. It’s $300 or 400 cheaper.

I'm looking at the DMX1057XR for my 2019 but not sure about the floating display. If you've still got this in your truck or have the pictures would you mind dropping a couple more, maybe driver's perspective and a side shot? Thanks!

Here’s a shot mid install, you can maybe get an idea of how far it sticks out. I’d say it’s maybe an inch past the outer bezel, and it has to stick out that far because of the adjusting mechanism behind it. I’m out of town the next couple of weeks otherwise I’d take a side shot for you.

I just installed the jvc version w/maestro rr2. But as is telling me to park the vehicle and set the parking brake. I attached the light green to light green. Should I have just grounded the parking brake wire?

This probably doesn’t help, but general troubleshooting there are a few different things I would check.
    1. Connections. Did you solder them? Good connection?
    2. Programming. Make sure it’s programmed to right vehicle and serial number is entered correctly.
    3. On Kenwood’s specifically you can ground out parking brake wire. I haven’t installed a JVC so I can’t speak to ground out truck working there.

How does your backup camera look, mine looks terrible now. Did you lose your safety sense features?

    The factory camera is terrbile
Factory camera is terrible to begin with. I knew going into this that a bigger screen would only make it worse.

    I have a 17. No safety sense.

I got lazy, and just used default front L. and then turned the EQ down on 5K+ to try and mellow out the voce tweeters. I don’t plan on messing with it too much until summer, when I do a full system, active, DSP etc...

Looks great! I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of a DMX1057XR. It's on backorder. I'm probably going to use a Metra dash kit. Can you tell me what position you used for the main unit install? Did you leave it in the factory position or did you need to slide it forward to be able to clear the Tacoma's bezel? Thanks!
