The Dimmer dial on the truck doesn't seem to dim the lighting on the deck even though I connected the wire correctly according to the wiring diagram. Is there something I'm doing wrong? or is this normal?

Aftermarket decks don't allow you to turn the brightnes up and down with the knob on the dash they just have that input so that it will Dim to a selectable point when the dash lights turn on.
