This used to be another "broke" college kid build but I decided I've surpassed that and its just another 2wd with 4wd aspirations build. I'm gonna try to go through and track everything as I added it.

I bought it in January of 2014

Feb. 2014, still stock as shit.

    IMG_2916_zpsa413ee90_1bd5882d193fc888b8cfe9ccbf79c2aaf429311c.jpg

April 2014, finally got it lifted on 5100/885 combo from @TacoBurrito07 and some 285's with an AAL from @allmotorrex
    IMG_3012.jpg

Sometime shortly after that I installed a touchscreen pioneer and 2 10's
    IMG_0199.jpg

On graduation night I was taking people home from parties and got in a wreck with a drunk driver. Smashed up the ass end.
    IMG_0481.jpg

Which led to new tail lights and an All-Pro rear bumper

    IMG_1458.jpg

Next on the list came the SOS concepts front bumper around Aug. 2014

    IMG_0981.jpg

Somewhere down the line I added some LED's and got some black backed headlights while I built retrofits.

    IMG_1861.jpg

After freshman year of college I got some SCS f5's, new 315 procomp MT2's and at some point had finished my retrofits

    IMG_2065.jpg

Up next came a suspension refresh. Retired the 5100/885 combo and AAL in favor for All-Pro Expos and Fox 2.0's out back. Maxtrac lift spindles, Fox 2.0 coilovers from @Robertocritser , and Camburg UCA's from @Robertocritser up front.

    IMG_0112.jpg

    IMG_0358.jpg

This was all done October 2015, January 2016 along with welding on some 4x innovations sliders. In May I picked up my spare tire carrier from @beertimecontinuum , who also gave me the OEM roof rack.

    IMG_0884.jpg

July 2016 I picked up the CBI bed rack with the surco basket from @Dave41079

    DSC_0007.jpg

This is what the truck currently looks like, but in January 2017 I added a Powertrax locker from @Mr.Bl0nde and installed an OBA setup from VIAIR.

    IMG_1456.jpg

    IMG_1455.jpg

I keep saying that I'm going to stop modding the truck and just drive it, but we all know how that goes. Planning on 4.56 gears soon and then who knows where life will take me.

Shout out to everyone in the TN thread for selling me all of their 2nd hand parts and being there if I need any help or advice.

    Now for the Mods

    Exterior:
SOS concepts hybrid front bumper (finally put front recovery points on it)
All-pro offroad rear bumper with side plates

Just ordered an SOS Concepts hybrid front bumper and should have it within 3-4 weeks, that will be getting bed liner-ed (sp?) as the rear bumper did.
No comments yet? C'mon guys, I posted on here looking for suggestions as to what I should do next!

Well I had a summer full of 50 hour work weeks and it all went to the truck, plus a lot of what I've done has been bought used. But now it's back to reality and slowly doing small stuff.

Looks to me like you are doing just fine. Good looking truck.

Thinking about starting a "Broke Dad Putting His 3rd Thru College" thread.

Wizard, I love the tires. I bought them used from a member on here with around 50-60% tread and I've put 14,000 miles on them since then and can barely notice it. Granted, they are load E range with the max pressure of 80 so they're really hard, but I love them. They've gotten my 2wd through some places that I shouldn't have made it

Damn, I didn't realize they made truck tires with a max psi of 80, but shows how little I know about it. Preciate the info. You asked about mods, i personally think that your truck would look good with a different type of grill. If i were you and had the cash, i'd stick a black mesh grill on it and try to re-adhere the toyota emblem. somethin like this, but its all in your personal taste.grzq-tcm0509-bk_zps5a96fb73_6956c9902501a19c9457d5deb09b073632c54831.jpg

I was actually looking at the raptor style "Toyota" grill. I think I'm going to do that when I get a job up in Knox and get some money flowing again.
And the tires are the 1ton truck rated 10 ply tires I believe

If this 'broke' college kid build is anything like the others, you will have full long travel suspension in a year or so

Nice. How do you like the bumper? I'm thinking about getting something like what you have in the next year or so

I like it for the most part, some of the welds are pretty bad, and it doesn't line up 100% correctly on the passenger side. I love this style bumper though, and it's a solid built bumper.

Hoping to get the rear diff breather mod and some light pods here soon I just have to find the time and get a little money in my pocket. Looking at getting maxtrac spindle's and an icon stage 1 kit after christmas when I've got a month and a half to work.
