I've given up beer and it's a bitch! Next step is carbs.

I've done keto in the past but to be honest kinda halfassed it. I always felt MUCH better on it - everything from inflammation to headaches, sleep, everything. Even my sex drive went up. So why in the world didn't I stick with it? Don't know.

I'm going to give it another go, I'm starting by intermittent fasting. At least that is the plan, brought about by my wife's success and some of what I have read in this thread. I haven't eaten since 8pm yesterday, other than the coffee I am having now (BRCC, a tablespoon of sugar free creamer and stevia in about 16oz of coffee. I can't do black coffee).

Normally.by now I'd have either had a cup of grits with fried eggs, or grabbed a biscuit sandwich on the way in to work. I have been eating a lot less fast food lately. So that is an improvement. But i have been drinking 3 or 4 diet Pepsis a day during the week, mostly to feed my caffeine addiction and to stave off the headaches.

Definitely getting hungry. I'll do my best to last til 4, but might just have to grab a sandwich. At least I haven't had my diet Pepsi, or grabbed anything from the snack machine. Last weigh in was when I broke my toe a few weeks ago.. 250 on 5'7" (though that was about 10 pounds lighter than it has been recently, so there was some progress). I am borderline T2 diabetic, so must make changes.

    Stuff. Also things.
Finally made it into the 240s after starting just above 260!

I’ve been on a pretty mild calorie deficit and I’ve stayed keto since New Year’s Day other than two days where I had a few carbs for one meal with my family. Weigh loss has been slow, but I’ve been lifting consistently since New Years as well as and the weight is going up steadily. My waist is going down and my arms and chest are getting a bit bigger, so I’m gonna ride this out as long as I can!

So far, I haven’t found myself jonesing for carbs much at all, but I do get cravings for sweets, so I wanna look into some sweet fat bombs and see if those help.

Anyway, I’m a big fan so far!

Checked my blood sugar about an hour ago. 254 after 14 hours of no food (other than coffee and water). Definitely got to check it more often!

I don't know what those numbers mean. Is it good or bad?

Snow day here in Eugene. Good day for comfort food. Picked up some keto friendly baking mix last week from Amazon. It's pretty good! Making a chicken pot pie with it this evening. A bit of the mix in a roux to thicken up the bone broth/chicken base mix and some mixed with cream, water & egg for the top crust. Should be tasty!

Made a pot of Hamburger Helper lasagna for the family the other day.....but did something low-carb for me.

Spiraled zucchini with meatballs & shrooms....carb budget was spent on the sauce, I suppose.

Keto friendly (relatively) "pizza" for lunch today. Mission carb balance tortilla (8), tomato paste (2), cheese, pepperoni. I toss the tortilla in the oven to crisp it up a bit on 425 convection. Flip a few times so it's firm but not too crispy. Spread the sauce/toppings and back in for not too long. <10 minutes for sure. Pretty tasty! I sprinkle some garlic/onion/Italian seasoning/salt/pepper/hot pepper flakes on the tomato paste after I spread it to give it a bit more flavor.

    Holy shit!

I was just now reading an article about "keto crotch", when your notification came in.

I was compelled to ask if this is truly such a thing?

I can tell you that the breath thing is true but the crotch thing is garbage.

As for maintaining, I was 203 on Monday and back to 198.3 this morning.

Seem to be able to maintain quite well despite what those articles might say.

I little bit of discipline goes a long way my friends.

Like I said, NYP is not a real authority on reporting. I read the article, but didn't think it had much merit.

    It’s ok.

I haven’t found a low carb beer that I can say is really good yet.
