Ketogenic Diet

thanks brotha, hoping to get to 200 by end of the year. Going to start exercising starting tonight, i have a stationary bike that I will use for 15-20 mins a day. I know its not much, but dont want to start too strong/hard and lose interest or get burned out. I'll keep it slow and short for first week or so with the same diet i got going and see what happens.

 

Good call. The best exercise routine is the one that you will actually stick to. Walking half an hour a day is better than planning 6 gym sessions a week and showing up for 1 every other week. Don't feel bad. Everyone has to start somewhere.

 

Also hi, I have been lurking in the thread for a while. I did Keto for about 3 months (I have been off of it for about a month now). Over those 3 months I lost over 15 net pounds. I was building muscle as well through a lot of exercise so I think I lost more than 15 pounds of fat. I also got my first normal liver enzyme test results (I had NAFLD) in like 5 years so I was ecstatic about that. I just stopped doing it in favor of a clean diet that includes some healthy non refined carbs like sweet potatoes and the like. I enjoy the variety of it.


TLDR: I used Keto as a tool and it really really worked.

Additional info:

I'm 23 and just under 6'4. I started at 205 and ended at 187. Now to add back all of that weight with muscle.

 

nice man, good stuff. I also have fatty liver/NASH, along with gallstones/sludge. 2.5 years ago had a stone stuck in the bile duct that hurt so bad for about 8 hours. keto is not for me, but im managing with it.

Just took this pic, but did have about 40oz of water so far with 12oz coffee and 3 table spoons of fat free cottage cheese.

less calories and no fat, also since i do have gallstone issues, cannot do whole milk or anything made with whole milk or even eat egg yolks.

ya man, i come to work and weigh myself, after a pee and poop lol but mostly with a full 12-16oz of coffee in me and fully dressed.

 

My numbers I post are AM pre-breakfast and post-pitstop underwear only

 

I love reading about all the progress made. Love hearing about having to shop for new pants.

 

Started at a 36 waist which was snug, now some of my 34’s are loose...

 

Well I just read through this entire thread and it’s the catalyst that is pushing me to give keto a try. When you hit the holidays, did you allow yourself to enjoy the holiday meals ?

 

This was lunch and dinner and made a lot so next 3-4 days will be the same!

 

I stick to low carb "keto" during the week then eat "normally" on the weekends. Been following this pattern now for about 8-9 months and have been able to maintain the 30ish Lbs. of weight loss.

 

Any recommendations on places to find recipes ? I do better eating when I can meal prep for a few days

Fiancée and I did keto for a while wayyy back in the day. ( like a year ago ). Keto + working out = best shape of my life.

we were hardcore though. 0 carbs 0 sugar, then on Sunday we would splurge and eat avocado and pork grinds.

main diet = eggs. Bacon. Chicken . Steak.
