We are not full keto in our home, just low carb. (Less than 75g/day, and most days it’s below 50)

we’ve been on this lifestyle for almost 2 years and still have no issues maintaining it.

I know that’s not what you asked… just get back into it and see how it works for you!

Beer is the problem with keto.

I really can go with a keto diet but my love of craft beer just kills it. :(

I have been eliminated sugar and limiting carbs for over a year now. Lost 30 pounds.

    Bring lunch to work.
    Costco
Guacamole singles and Organic hummus singles
    Almonds, pecans walnuts, pumpkin seeds.

    Dinner
is usually salmon, and I avoid limit the carbs like potatoes.

Once your in the habit its not hard.

Sugar is the hard thing to eliminate as it is in everything.

Kind bars have sugar but I will eat them anyways

Craft beer is usually a killer for carbs, but if you can stomach a couple of Mich Ultras, they are only 2.6g carbs each.

Alas, the way the liver processes alcohol before carbs, and carbs before fat, most hard booze is off the table except in limited quantities. :(

Sucks, because I do love my bourbon.

Check out Dang bars and Love Good Fats. They have a decent selection at Publix and Costco around here, and they're pretty tasty and filling. For a sugar substitute when cooking, we've pretty much gone exclusively with Swerve.

In the first 6 months I lost 33 lbs! Talk about stoked! I think I could have done even better except for pizza. Damn you pizza!

    :hungry:

As for beer, I’ve had both the Blue Moon Light Sky (kind of a tangerine wheat 3.6 carbs for 12oz) and Corona Premier (2.6/12oz). Both are decent of you have to have a cold one.

I’m looking for the Devils Backbone Tangerine ale to try.

I'm on day 4 now, and doing great. A few/4 years ago or so I lost 50 pounds in a fairly short time. Went from 225 pound down to 175! I can’t recall before that when the last time I weighed so little.
In high school was 195 and pretty good shape. I maintain that lower weight for quite some time but after awhile started to get some leg cramps:notsure:

I recently got on the scale and seen 236....said that's it I'm doing the keto again.
Overall I felt sooo much better. I'm going to try and maintain a weight around maybe 185 this time.

After losing all that weight the first time I had a coworker ask me if I was sick..with like cancer or something..that's how much different I looked.

    Like sick cancerous person :eek:o_O

That's about what I was at when I started keto. Got down to 206 and was stoked about getting sub-200, then carbs happened. :( I'm ready to get back on it again!

I've been dabbling with keto and did well with it for a while then... stopped. I started back up a few days ago and bought an exercise bike to try to get ready for road biking this summer.

The formula I've been using is carbs minus fiber divided by 5, no more than 1 before lunch (so protein shake for breakfast) and less than 15 (or 75 if you don't want to deal with the division) for the day. I've been averaging around 34, so well under the max.

I'm fully expecting the carb headache to be in full effect soon, probably tomorrow.
