Never seen that around me.

I’ve been using 647 brand bread. It’s 6-7 net carbs a slice which is plenty low for me. They also make a very good 647 English muffin. It’s like 15 net carbs but is really really good.

 

Costco has some keto buns. I'll be grabbing a pack of them tomorrow.

 

Interesting. I need to swing by Aldi anyway I'll see if they've got that I'll give it a whack

 

They’ve also got these low carb tortillas that are fantastic for wraps or thin crust pizza

 

I love me some pizza. I'll have to investigate!

 

This is a good low carb bread. Available at Fred Meyer or QFC here in Washington. I like the multi seed version. 9 total carbs 4 net

 

No keto buns at Costco, only a 2 pack of bread for about the same price per loaf as Aldi.

I did pick up some carb control tortillas, though. Sounds like taco night soon.

 

Folks - those breads are better than regular bread. But let's be real. You eat a slice and they will throw you right out of ketosis. Now that's not saying you can't eat a slice in the AM and lose weight. I love that aspect.

I personally can't cheat like that. My blood glucose is so easily triggered. It sucks, I'm 65 and even though I'm not fat (170#, 5'8") my liver plays fatty liver tricks. Insulin resistance.

 

4-8g net carbs is okay, one slice would be fine. A sandwich would be rough, two would probably kick you. Also depends on your body mass. The "net carb goals" vary WILDLY, I know some people aim for 5-10, some say 25, some say anything under 50, it's chaos and all subjective anyway.

It really is super super individualist. I simply cannot get my blood sugar under 100 any more. Oh I try. 105, 104. But lots of 150's - 170's. But even 110-120, no ketosis for me. Scary is if I go nuts and lose control for baked goods. 200-220!!

I had a bullet coffee 40 minutes ago (I call it pirate coffee, my thing)...........gonna check..........wait................151. I didn't check when I woke but always 130-140.

I have a pickleball tournament this AM 8-10. Will check after (will be elevated and drop quick)

 

The program I'm following is more like controlled carbs than true keto. It limits net carbs to no more than 75 for the day, but I'm usually in the 50's.

That has worked for me in the past to get over the insulin resistance. I know it's mostly water weight at this point but down 3.4 since Monday is an encouraging start.

I made the mistake of wanting to eat lunch today only to find peanut butter cookies half dipped in chocolate in the break room.

 

A bit on the high side at 21 net carbs for 2 tacos but since I hadn't eaten all day and have a limit of 75, they were damn good and well within budget.

 

Prepare yourself for this abomination.



Carb Control tortilla, pizza sauce, crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.

Threw the tortilla in the air fryer at 350 for one minute, flipped and air fried for another 30 seconds (probably could have used a full minute). Added toppings, back into the air fryer for another minute.

And then since it was still a bit soft in the middle, I folded it in half and ate it like a taco.

9 grams of net carbs.

 

A local pizza joint has a keto crust that I've been curious about trying. I picked my wife up from work today and we stopped there for supper. Never again. It was horrible. I ate the toppings and tossed the crust.

For reference, it's an 11" pizza and came to a total of 16 net carbs.

 

Seem to have plateaued at 212 for now. Based on the season I'll be happy to stay at 212 through the Holidays. Been tough with all the goodies floating around.

Im back on the wagon after putting on 10# since Oct 1... Fall has been non stop and I paid for it...

Low carb/keto bread: there's a bunch on the market now, you just have to look for them OroWheat makes one. One is at Costco pretty regularly, hot dog and hamburger buns as well!

Pizza: I cut out the middle man and leave the crust off altogether. Pie/tart pan, press ground sausage into the bottom for the 'crust'. Bake until mostly cooked through. Add sauce and toppings, finish baking. eat up.

 

Got a bit more sugar but only drink half a cup and you’re good.
