I noticed last week by accident that I was able to unlock/lock my truck when grabbing/touching the driver side door handle....but my key fob was all the way inside my house. I read in the manual that the proximity was only approxitmately 2 feet. I cranked the truck up once getting my keys and then turned it off to see if was just a weird one time glitch. I locked the truck back (using the handle), put my keys inside, then went back out to test if it would unlock, and it wouldn't-- how it normally should be.

Well I tested it again today, leaving my keys inside, and low and behold my truck unlocked and locked as if I had my keys in my pocket. Anybody else had this issue? I did some minor research and was unable to find anything.

How far away is all the way in the house? If the keys are hung up right next to the garage door it might be juuuust close enough to trigger it occasionally.

Definitely a good 30-40 feet or more. I even moved them further back in the house and it would still unlock/lock.

So I thought the same problem was going on, but my dealer threw my spare set in the glove box. So yeah... make sure your extra set isn’t close.

Strange. Doors aren't supposed to lock/unlock by fob or door handle with the key in the vehicle. Only when it's close proximity outside the driver's door.

Did you accidentally leave the other fob inside the vehicle?

Do you need to know, or care?
So many factors there, including local interference from other devices and signal strength depending on battery strength. Could go on and on about location, signal strength, and interference. Everyone will have different experiences depending on where they are located and the amount of signal interference they are experiencing, without taking into account battery strength. So my guess is over time you won't see the same results.

No, my spare fob isn't in the vehicle or anywhere near it.

Turn off all your fobs and retry it (either take out their batteries or just push and hold down lock and double click unlock, it will blink 4 times and turn off completely). If the truck still unlocks, see if theres a bypass fob option in the menues, and disable it (I dont know if there is). Then take in to dealer for warranty repairs.

If your spare fob was in the glove box, and had a good battery, you wouldn't be able to lock the doors. So ya, not the problem.

Hmm... I'd do what OnHartung'sRoad suggested then. If your fobs are off and it still locks/unlocks, trucks broke and needs the dealer to fix under warranty.

Maybe the dealer left a spare in the bed? That or someone is trying to hijack your truck OP!

If there’s any electronic devices nearby, it could theoretically be amplifying the signal to longer distances. I’d check for any appliances or electronics in the area near where your fob is kept and the truck is parked.
